Maggie's services were beautiful. At the funeral home, my sister sang a song she had taught Maggie at Christmas. Maggie loved that song and sang it over and over again. Mike spoke, and then we played a song that was special to Mike.

At the church, we had them play On Eagle's Wings. That was played at Lucy's funeral too. The readings included one from Revalation that I asked for, that mentioned God would wipe every tear from our eyes. The Gospel was the verse about Jesus telling the people to let the little children come to him.

We got to Riley in the afternoon. Mikey has improved by leaps and bounds. He was sitting up eating pudding when we got here, and talked to us. He wanted a game boy. We started to cry when we told him his was ruined. So Mike and I drove right downtown to the mall and got him a game boy and five games to play.

He did ask about Maggie last night. He was very upset. We don't know if he will remember the conversation today. We may have to do that again. We'll see.

Linda,

Thank you for the update. I know it has to be hard to type in the updates for us...but at the same time, I know it helps sometimes to just be able to share it with someone. I hope that it helps more than hurts you.

I am so glad that Mikey is improving so well. I do hope that he remembers your conversation from last night some. If he's like us though, it will be hard for it to sink in. When my sister passed away, her mil had alzheimers. I felt so sorry for that woman. She would keep forgetting and would ask where Kathy was..and her son would explain to her again about Kathy dying. Each time, it was like it was the first time she heard about it and would grieve all over again. I think that was rougher on her son than her for him to see his beloved mother in so much emotional pain about his loved wife dying. It kept the wound of losing Kathy very fresh until it finally sinked in for his mom. So...I can well understand how hard it will be on you and Mike should you have to go through that again.

With you making repeated trips to Indy, if you/you & Mike would like to meet some of us for lunch or dinner, just let us know...ok?

Thinking about you today...
Sherri

Linda, I do hope that Mikey will be able to come home soon.  Have they said any more about his broken bones?  Hopefully with him being so young, he will recover quickly and without any lasting effects.

You were in my thoughts all day yesterday.  Just wished I could have given you a big hug, as we all did.

Hang in there and keep praying.  God hears all the prayers that we say each day.  I pray that Mikey will remember the conversation, and he will be able to understand more each day.  It has to be just as hard on him as well.
Prayers headed your way. Take care!

Linda, Thank You for all of the updates. It sounds like it was a beautiful service. I wish that I could have been there. Ithink I am finally over my stomach bug(lasted a week). I did not want to chance sreading it to anyone else. I am so glad that Mikey is improving. I can not fathom what you have had to endure in the last week. Once again if you need anything please let me know. Jana

Oh Linda, what good news about Mikey.  Sitting up eating pudding and playing gameboy.  Sounds like he is improving so well.  I know yesterday was hard on you.  On Eagle's Wings is a great song.  I also like Be Not Afraid.  They are very comforting.

You were on my mind all day yesterday.  I'll pray for peace for you and your family over the days to come.

How are you injuries?  I wanted to hug you at the funeral home but was afraid I'd hurt you.  I just grabbed your hand instead.  Please let us know how you are healing as well.

Love you,

Hi Sweety,
I am so thankful we were able to come & be with you before the funeral- & we all were surrounding you & holding you,Mike& family up thru yesturday. We will continue to carry you in thought & prayers. I hope I didn't hug you to hard, but I just wanted to hold you a little bit & give you a "Momma's' love.
Kids seem so resiliant at times. When our grandson was injured from a accident & in the hospital the only thing he wanted was his gameboy too! I am praying for him, and I hope he is able to come home soon. Is there anything we can send him- or do for you??
"I Believe ther are Angels in Heaven", is one of my favorite songs. I have many grandbabies in heaven I never got to meet ( my daughter had 10 miscarrages) and I KNOW someday I will see them in heaven & get to cuddle them. Right now they are busy playing with Lucy & Maggie, Tommy, (my nephew) and giggling with Jesus.
If there is anything you need, please let us know. I am sure Mikey will need lots of reassurance in the days to come. Just know we all are here for you all and love you.
  (((BIG HUGS)))
