Has anyone had this procedure done.  In support group Tuesday night someone said something to me about it.  I have not been able to stop thinking about it since then.  I have an appointment with Dr Huse on 3/2/9 and will discuss it with him and see what he thinks.  I even called my insurance company today, and they possible will cover it.  What I gathered from them it is the same procedure as I had to do before to get approved.

Thanks

Peggy,

I had to when I was 6 months post-op. My stoma kept closing up and it got to where it would perforate every time it was dilated back open. Maybe it was because of the cir****tances but I didn't have to jump through any hoops at all for that round. I think Dr. Gupta's office contacted Anthem and got pre-approval, but that was it. No submission and waiting for approval for 2 weeks.

ps...you might want to consider the stomaphy-X procedure. Dr. Gupta may be the only one doing it. It would probably be cheaper (more approvable!). She goes down your throat to do the procedure so no tummy wounds at all. It is specifically for post-RNY patients. You may want to Google it to learn more.

May I ask why you are considering this? My new surgeon asked me if I am interested in a revision. Jana

I have NO problem with Dr Gomez. It is Wishard that I NEVER want to return to. Elisha has left and I have always gone to Clarion's support group.so I switched to Dr Mattar. Jana

Dr, Huse is performing my RNY revision on 03/24.  I had a solastic ring surgery 15 years ago (Dr. Huse was my surgeon then).

My insurance approved the procedure.  I did not have the same procedure performed twice, but I bet it will depend on what happened with your staple line.

Good luck.
