Dr. Inman's thoughts

Well, the extra potassium is still running because my level didn't come up like they'd hoped it would. Dr. Inman was in a bit ago. She said that in her experience, the younger the patients are, the more difficulty they have with nausea when eating. They are not going to rescope me since I just had one and the stricture was fine. She also said that the Lexapro could definately cause this nausea. The lexapro is just getting to full effectiveness so that could definately be it. She is stopping my Lexapro and my Carafate (thank you God) and putting me on Remeron. While Remeron is a psych med, she said she uses it in a very low dose that will help turn off the nausea center of the brain. She is going to do an upper GI today just to be sure that there isn't any type of motility issue that they couldn't see on my CT. After the upper GI, I'll get to advance my diet a bit and see how things go. I am still requiring anti nausea meds before eating.

Melissa!

Bless your heart...you've really been through so much....geesh!  Haven't been on lately, but am hoping to be able to catch up in the next couple of weeks.  I have a follow-up appt. with Dr. Gupta on Monday, and I DON'T want to see you still in the hospital, okay!  Sending hugs and prayers your way, my friend!
Take care!
