After your surgery, did any of you have a sore throat?   I don't recall Emil having one.  How long will it last, and what can I take for it??

I did, it is most likely from the artificial airway that they used during surgery.  I had one for a couple of days, warm fluids, sugar free cough drops or sprays can help. Even ice chips will help some too.  If it lasts much longer, or you have any other cold or ilness symptoms, like fever, chills, etc, I would see your doc.

Good Luck!!!

Ditto...I also use/used sf popcycles to soothe it. I think mine usually lasts ~1 week. If it's still sore when you go for your 1 week, I'd say something to Dr. Rosie...but I really doubt that it will be.

Ditto Becky.  It's normal.  Ice helped me and also SF popsicles.

I just saw where you have had your surgery.  Congratulations!  Hope you are getting along well.
The sore throat is from being intubated. Like everyone else said, just keep your throat moist. I think mine only lasted a couple days.
