Anyone tried Dinner by Design?
If you had your surgery at St. Vincent's they offer a free cooking class at Dinner by Design once a month (the 3rd Monday of the month). You have to call the dieticians and have them register you for the class in order to attend. I went last month and it was actually pretty good. We got to try 4 different dishes and then we prepared the 4 dishes that we had just sampled.
The food is simple to prepare and is pretty tasty. I was interested in going back for a regular class, but I just haven't made it back there yet.

My Mom and I went to one in November. It was fun. We went in and put together 1/2 portions of the meal that was bariatric friendly. While we were doing that they were cooking samples of what we put together for us to taste. Then everyone who was there took one of the 1/2 portions home with them. Mom and I had already eaten by the time we got there so I was full. I tried a bit of a couple of things. We brought home recipes for all the stuff we made which was nice because we are make a couple of them every month. You should try it!

Been there... What is good is I think it is either Dr Huse or Dr Inman who is co owner and helps choose the bariatric allowable foods.. I actually liked some of the samples even though I might have made a few things alittle differently to make them taste better... added a few things... But finding out fennel actually tastes good when cooked was great.. I will try that spice in more of my dishes.
