Plastic Surgery in Indianapolis

I am at the point where I am really interested in having this huge flap of skin removed from my belly.  I am looking for recommendations about surgeons and centers.  I had a breast reduction a few years ago (big mistake now after losing 150 lbs, but oh well, it was a great decision then) and I went to Dr Turkle and was comfortable with her and her staff.  But I have read recently about her collegues that have moved on to their own practices and how much better their service and bedside manner and financial help is.  But I can not remember where I read that.  Does anyone have any first hand information or any other recommendations.  This will more than likely be self pay for me...but I still want the best but at the best price and terms.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Many of us here on the board have had one or the other and some, BOTH! Great bedside manner, and quick insurance approvals and dates! Mine was completely covered by insurance, and all of the paperwork and info was submitted to the insurance, by them! I was approved in less than 4 days!

I had Dr. Turklle for a breast reduction and a tummy tuck a few years ago.  At that time she was fantastic.  I love her bedside manner.  I have not seen her for a couple of years and had no idea her collegues had moved on.  I think that is how it works.  When I saw her she was not out on her own.

She was a good surgeon, but I guess we both agree, but I too would like to know if you hear anything more.  I have not yet had surgery, so this will be way down the road for me.  So call me curious.

I went to Dr. Bergman and absolutely loved her. She did a full abdo & thigh lift.

I had a consult with Dr. Turkle first..well, it was suppose to have been with Dr. Bergman but between the time I made the appointment and when the appointment got there, Dr. Bergman & Dr. Grassee had went off on their own. I found Dr. Turkle to be a pompous snob. Now, I have worked at Lilly's for 20 years so it's not like I went in there homeless, penniless, or with no self-esteem at all. Her attitude was enough to make me feel belittled. I don't stick with anyone for any service I am paying for (or my insurance is..in which, I also pay for),  who has that kind of an attitude! She refused to try to bill my insurance for anything and was a real snot in saying so.

Dr. Bergman on the other hand? VERY down to earth. When I first met her, I thought she was one of the office help. She's just very humble and sweet. She takes the time to listen to you. You may want to real my profile...but I was in a coma for 9 days in Oct. 2007. She had even came in ICU a few times to check on me and see if my husband needed anything. She was the first doctor I saw when I came to. The pcp I had at the time didn't bother coming in at all and her office was there at that hospital!

If you see Dr. Bergman for a consult, please tell her that I referred you to her. She gives some discount for referrals..and my girls aren't done yet! lol
