Drs.visits/SIL

Hi,
 I went to see a Breast Surgeon today, due to alot of pain I have been having. I recieved some really good news- no cancer!!!! It is an inflamed  lymph node(lympoma) 3x3 x9cc.The fatty tissue around it is swollen, as well. He put me on pain meds. & said to come back in 3 months.He sees this in wonmen who have lost alot of weight-they carry excess fat in their breasts & it can cause pain/swelling when overworked- huh?Well, I have been lifting 25# -Bethany, & 25# weights at exercise. Who knew you could strain your breast  by lifting? Well, lesson learned. 

 We also went to see Karen. She is so weak & undernourished.I did get to talk with her Dr. He told her they didn't think her cancer had spred to her intestines or stomach. They did find some calcifications in her lungs.  She had impacted bowels, & they were able to get as much as they could. Now she has to do the rest. They found her kidneys were shutting down, so are giving her lasex. They are worried she isn't eating, for fear she'll feel full,or get sick.No more moriphine or pain patch, they think she has become allergic to it.  They also are going to set up a Home Healthcare Nurse to come every other day & check that she is eating, keep track of fluids, & give her fluids IV if needed. This is the first time Karen has said she is in severe pain- so I know she is. She has a very high tolerance to it, so when she says she is, she means it. I so appreciate you all praying for her/them.

I am so glad your appointment went well yesterday. I'm sorry I missed your call though! I guess you'll have to start doing like me and quit picking up the grandbabies and have them climb up into your lap.

I feel so sorry for Karen. Did they put her on something else for pain? I hope so. I can understand her fear of getting impacted. You might want to pick her up some Smooth Move tea bags. It's a herbal decaf tea. You drink a cup of hot tea with it at night and the next morning, it really does assist in you going..without the cramps that laxatives can give. I hope she's at least getting fluids in. She certainly has enough going on in her body without adding malnutrition and dehydration to it.

Thanks everyone for your loving thoughts & prayers.Sherri- They put her on Occicotion(sp) the high powered pain med. and she will go home with it. She is so tiny now(  down  from 156 to 119),they told her to use ginger tea, or ginger ale before bed-she can't tolerate laxitives. She is very picky & has stopped eating alot of foods, so the Dietician gave her an idea of soft diet to try. She was over eating high fiber, which was the wrong thing for her .I know they were going to try her on boost- or ensure ( she will only do strawberry) today. We go over as often as we can ( if we bring over something she will try to eat it). Dana will stop by & get something to take for her,if she mentions something( usually pie). She is like me, lactose intolerant, so I make things i know she will eat. Thanks for your prayers everyone, we so appreciate them.
