Emotional and Sensitive since surgery??
Ok, so I'm not sure if it's just me, if I'm going crazy, or if it's normal, but ever since my surgery 3 weeks ago, I've been so emotional. I can'****ch a sappy news story or television show without crying. I'm not a heartless person, but I could watch a sad story on the news and not cry like a baby every time. Is this normal? I was thinking maybe hormones, maybe just being overwhelmed by all that has happened in the last few weeks? I don't know but it does worry me. Any thoughts would be appreciated!!
Thanks again for answering my million questions I have.
Michelle
I felt the same way, still do when I'm breaking a stall. Estrogen is stored in fat cells. So, when your body starts burning alot of fat, the estrogen floods your system and can make you feel crazy for awhile.

It's normal sweetie. It's the estrogen being released by the fat cells. It's stored in there and is released when your body is burning the fat.
It's like going through puberty again - my face breaks out (I never got pimples - even as a teenager!!), I get emotional. I get down in the dumps.
It's ok - welcome to the club!

Wow..I did not know this! I had a hysterectomy but they left my ovaries..for all the good they did me. I guess that should had been my first clue that they had konked out on me and that I was beyond the menopause thing when I didn't get 'sappy' post-op. ![](http://images.obesityhelp.com/_shared/images/smiley/msn/daydreaming.gif)

They told us in our pre-op class to expect it. They also mentioned that a lot of PCP's and Surgeons insist on anti-depressant meds to help to keep you as steady as can be in the transition. I still have my moments once in a while but seem to have less of them now.
You might want to talk to your PCP about it.
Huge hugs,

Oh, I do understand. My first 12 weeks after surgery were tears- of joy, sadness, silliness, you name it- anything brought tears!!!! That is normal- your harmones are all messed up as well as your body. You've gone threw major surgery & your body is just trying its best to recoup. Don't let it worry you, you will get threw this & come out the other side better for it. I did go on an anti-depressent, which has really made a differance for me.
Breathe, pray, take a walk, whatever makes you feel better! i wish you better days ahead!
