Melissa,
I am so sorry for your husband's family. It's rough enough to lose one family member but to come that close to losing two, I know has to be very hard on them all.
When my sister died (1990), one day before, a great aunt also passed away. Kathy's funeral was near Joliet, Ill., the aunt's was in Texas. Their funerals were the same day. People had to make the hard decision of whose funeral to attend. My grandfather had to choose between his sister or his granddaughter. That is one 'choice' you should never have to make.
Why is it that so many deaths/funeral happen around a holiday? Even the non-stressful ones? Kathy's was Memorial Day. My great-grandmother was Thanksgiving. Bill's mom was Christmas. My daughter's best friend growing up was Easter. And now your uncle-in-law is Valentine's Day. Maybe it's God's way of helping our memory along... I know I'll never get through a Memorial Day without thinking of Kathy.
My prayers are with you, your husband, and all the lives that both uncles have touched...
