Jeanna, If you are not getting enough protein or calories, you will not lose weight.  By not getting enough balance of your protein you are starving your body.  The lack of calories will make you stall and you will NOT lose weight.  I had a hard time getting enough calories at first.  I was only taking in about 400 a day.  My NUT told me to bump that up and try to get around 1000.  So the long and short of it, YES you are stalling because you are not eating enough.

Applesause is not a balanced diet.  Sorry.

I would suggest you call the NUT and talk to them about it.

Huge hugs,
Tracy

Jeanna,
You are not taking in enough calories to lose any weight.  Are you taking protein supps  when you are not eating applesauce?  You are depriving your body of lots of things if you are eating only applesauce.  It is very important that you increase your calories and make protein a top priority.  Please call Denise, the nurse at Dr. Kad's office and talk to her, and also make an appt. to talk to the dietitians at St. V's.

Glad you were there Jeanna to hear the 3 of us give our 2 cents about our journey.  Come and say Hi when you are at another support group meeting.  It is always so crowded and you know what I look like whereas's you are all still one of the several  "big losers"   there, which makes most of you unrecognizeable from month to month, which is fantastic, BTW.

I don't feel like I am anyone's hero.  You have no idea how motivational and inspiring all of you are to me when I see you all emerging from your cacoons just as I once did.  I walked in the same shoes that you all did, felt the same pain in my joints & body, humiliation, & embarressment.

There are no words to describe how it feels to see post-ops making their transformation and we are all on this journey together.  We are all family.  No one understands us like we do.

It meant so much to me to have support from far out post op's when I was just beginning my journey.  I am only giving back to others what has already been given to me and I receive so much more than I give.

Jeanna, I am supposed to have between 67-74 gm. per day.  She figured it by my weight before surgery.  So I try to get a protein sup with 8oz. milk , 2 oz. meat 3x day, 6oz. yogurt (I eat Greek yogurt as I is higher in protein)  plus 1-1 1/2oz. of fruit or veg. It is hard but I try to get this plus 80 oz. liquid and all of my vit.
I hope you are doing ok!!!!!!!  I still have trouble with meat that is not soft...I mostly have ground turkey or meat with salsa...
Good Luck!!!!!
