It's ALIVE!!!!

My first day back is over and I lived to tell about it.  I got a little tired before lunch but then I picked up after I ate.  I started to get tired and thought about leaving about 1:00 but then I saw how many OLD transactions were still pending and I just couldn't do it.  I really felt I had to stay and try to help get them cleaned up.  Not so much for my co-workers but for the people that are waiting to get paid for thier travel claims.  We are supposed to have them cleared in 3 days and there are some from January 23rd still out there needing help.  I cleared almost half of them so I should get the rest of them fixed tomorrow.  I have also been informed that I will be having monthly training sessions with my lead so she can learn how to do what I do.  She did get 2 of my systems while I was gone but there are more she needs to get so she can learn my duties.  Nothing like learning the hard way!

My hero took really good care of me. He dropped me off at the front door closest to my desk so I wouldn't have to walk so far. He carried my breakfast and lunch in for me then brought it to me so I could put it in the refrigerator in my section.  He came and picked me up and walked me to the cafeteria at lunch time too.  At 3:00 sharp he was at my desk to walk me out.  Even though he offered to go get the car and pick me up at the front door, I chose to make the long walk.  I figured I was just coming home to relax so the walk in the nice weather would feel good.

Sherri...sorry we missed your call but we went to lunch with a group from church.  Stopped on the way home to pick up a couple things.

Gail...It was so great to talk to you. I really miss our "little" all day chats.  Floyd is working on our calendar so I should have a couple dates that you can run past Michelle and John so we can have dinner soon.

I want everyone to know how much I really appreciated all the cards, flowers, balloons, and phone calls - not to mention the thousands of prayers from all over the country.
I also want to thank everyone for looking after Floyd and giving him the encouragement he needed to get through this as well.  He's my hero but sometimes even hero's need a shoulder.

God bless you all for being our friends and part of our OH family.

I am so proud of you for being such a trooper.  I know how hard it must have been for you to make it all the way thru the day.  I know the people that were in the "holding" pattern will never know how you pushed to get their files processed.  But I am sure they will be glad to see that it is done.  You get an extra hug from me!

Take care and make sure you get plenty of rest this evening.

Huge hugs to you and to Floyd.
