Measurements prior to surgery

Just a little reminder to anyone getting ready for surgery. Be sure to get your body measurements before having your surgery! I am only 4 weeks post op and I so wish I would have thought about that. I did read here about sometimes losing inches instead of pounds but still with all the other prep I was doing getting ready I never thought to actually get my "before measurements". Now I am finding my clothing is getting very loose. In fact, probably my first WOW moment was putting on one of my bras and finding that not only was there extra room in the cup area but the hooks did not even come close to fastening. I really would love to know just how many inches I have lost. We constantly read here about pounds lost and hear the same at support group but can you imagine what the awesome numbers would be if we also stated "inches lost".

You might want to check with your nuts. When I went in for my initial consult, they measured me and that is the measurements I went by when figuring out how many inches I've lost. Unless they've changed the way they do things, they should be able to supply that to you.

I did my measurements on my day of surgery. At one month out, I had lost 25 pounds and 21". I was so excited. Start measuring now, you'll still see changes!!

It's not too late to start.  I did mine the day of surgery as well and made an excel spreadsheet.  I measure once a month.  It has helped me thru my stalls when I only lost 5 lbs but lost 7 inches one month.  I am proud to say I have lost over 75 inches now.  That is amazing!!!

Measure yourself today!

Good luck on your journey and congrats at your first WOW moment!

Huge hugs,
Tracy
