Saturday....
I had such a good friend day yesterday! I loved spending time with Ellen. We surely are sister chicks! And then spending time with Terry & Lyn and meeting son Tony was an added blessing. It was so terrifc seeing Annette again. I just love her to pieces! And to top it off, I got to talk with Gail and Cindy (Perry) on my way home! That was almost better than the clothing exchange days! LOL! I just love every opportunity I have to be able to get together with my OH family. It doesn't matter if it's in person or by phone! I've been able talk with Dawn (Smith) several times over the past week or so and it is so hard for both of us to shut up and hang up! LOL! We wore the battery out on my Blackberry the other day and Bill & I really did not think that was possible! I haven't talked with Brenda for a few days so I think I'm gonna have to get a doze of OH today and give her a call to see how she & Floyd are doing. Hmmmmm....I just may call YOU too!
When I got home yesterday, I learned that Lotus (our german shepard mix that we got from a rescue center just before Christmas) showed that she was an excellent guard dog! Even though we really didn't need her to be right then. She is not happy about us getting new siding at all. LOL! The guys from Unique are first removing the aluminum siding so they can see what shape the wood is underneath (so they can figure out how much wood to get here to replace it all). They are putting a green wrap over the wood to protect it & keep the house from having all the drafts from no siding being on. Because of what they are doing, they were all around the house yesterday. Lotus kept running from the living room to my craft room to the back porch to the hot tub room to..... I think she was trying to figure out which wall was coming open so she could get hold of the intruders! LOL! She wouldn't even stop to get a drink. When I got home, the poor thing was panting so hard. She was asleep before I was last night!! LOL! They will be back again today so I'm glad she is still resting right now. Just wait until this spring and we get a new roof!
BTW..I know I've said that Unique is expensive. Their quote was $10k more than the other quote we got. But..the other one, they would not put it in writing that they would replace any bad wood at all. Unique put that they would replace any & all bad wood. So far, they have found 3 places that the wood needs replaced. I think it the long run, we will have saved money by going through them. I am so thrilled that we are getting rid of this yucky mint green! The siding is going to be light blue and the shutters & facia a dark blue. The guttering will be white. The sales rep said they usually don't have someone have 3 colors. Well..the guttering didn't come in a blue or I wouldn't have chosen three! LOL! But..they are putting before & after pics in their sales album. Our house is going to be the kinda show & tell house for our area. We're cool with that.
I plan to pick up Myranda this afternoon. Tiffany was sick yesterday...she thought it was maybe a 24 hour flu bug. I hope she was right & she's feeling better today. I also hope none of the kids caught it. I told her not to tell Myranda about me getting her just in case she is sick. I don't want her to be sick AND disappointed. If she's sick though...she's best staying at home. I think Myranda will be a good treat for Lotus. They are both about on the same level of playfulness!
We had a call on our answering machine wanting to know if we wanted to book early a 4 night stay at Indiana Beach's Jellystone Park (book 4 nights, pay for 2..but had to book ASAP and stay May-June). Oh did it make me wi**** were summer! We love the laid-back feel of Indiana Beach but we prefer their campgrounds instead of Jellystone. We wouldn't book this early anyway since we have no idea right now what will be happening in the next months with my stomach.
I hope you all have a good day today....
huggs,
Sherri

Sherri... good luck with the home renovations! I know the siding will really change the look of the house. It did for our first house. I have heard Unique is expensive, but I've never heard anything bad about their work, so something it's worth paying more to get the job done right, I guess!
I haven't been on much in a couple days. Got busy again. I got up early this morning to take the dog out though. She's such a little sweetie. Cookie is some kind of terrier mix, little about 15 pounds. Even the vet doesn't have a good guess. She's blond and white, about the color of dough, hence the name. We got her from the Parke-Vermillion Humane Society. She even came housebroken. She had belonged to an older lady who went to a nursing home. So for the first two weeks, she was very unsure of the kids. She did show teeth a couple of times at them, but she got used to them pretty fast. I was worried about her working out, if she kept showing teeth at Maggie, but thankfully, they got used to each other.
Well, I have to admit, I've been kind of down. My daughter Lucy's birthday is coming up on February 19th. She died at age five weeks due to SIDS. She would have been ten years old this year. It's making me sad. I wish I could have her here with me, and see what kind of child she might have grown up into. It's making it hard to cope.
Bill & I are definately the types who would rather pay more and get a job done right. Unique guarantees their work for the life of the house...so if we sell it, that guarantee passes on to the new owners even. That holds true for their roofs as well as the siding, gutters, etc. It's good to know that we will never have to pay for any of that for this house ever again.
I am sure that Lucy is looking down from Heaven and very proud of the woman her mommy is. Just remember that she is sheltered in God's embrace. You will see her again in the future...but God needs her up there right now with him.

Sherri, my SIL had Unique side her house & it looks great. They had a couple of issues but Unique was there to remedy it very quickly. I am sure you will be happy with them.
Linda, I have seen your pain. My niece fell to SIDS at 3 weeks old. I am sorry that you had to lose such a precious angel.
I will be seeing Ellen later today and am looking forward to that. Not much else going on. Have a great day!
Take care and Have a great one!
You only have one life to live, but if lived right, it's the only one you need!
I am so excited to see the sunshine and the temps up for a change! I dread the cold so much! Tyler has a BB tournament today and we will probably be seeing Kim there. Her stepson is on one of the teams. I am excited about that.
I got a chance to chat with Janene last night and make plans to have lunch with her next week. I am thrilled about that! She is special to me because she is the first person on the board that I met in person and made me realize how wonderful all of you really can be!
I also made a Valentine date with Lisa since my hubby will be working and she will be in Indy. I am so pumped about that too!
Linda, I can understand your pain a bit too because I lost my first son at 5 months gestation. I know how hard it was for me. I cant imagine losing him after having him for that long. Lucy is going to be there for you when you get to Heaven someday and you will be able to enjoy eternity with her. My mother passed away with liver cancer. She delivered my little brother stillborn. She told us on her death bed that Grandpa and Grandma had brought her baby to her. She curled her arms around to hold him and her final 4 hours of life she had the most brilliant smile. She is with him now and forever. Just know that Lucy loves you and is watching you and the family. You have a special guardian angel in her. I will put you in my prayers.
I hope everyone has a great day! Enjoy the sunshine!
Huge hugs,
Tracy
Hi Everyone! I am loving the sunshine today! My Dad is home from the hospital!! He is so happy about that. He is still on oxygen and doing breathing treatments but is doing better. They found emphysema in his lungs when they xrayed for the pneumonia. And also damage from his disease, polyarteritis nodosa. He has been fighting this disease for almost 19 years. So there will be more to be dealt with on his lung issues. He was in good spirits and just really happy to be home. I want to thank everyone for their well wishes and prayers! You are all such a blessing!
My mind comes back to Terry and Lyn. God loves you Terry and Lyn. My prayers are with you both!
Sherri, I am so excited for you and Bill. It will be like having a new home!
Linda, I can't imagine how it would feel to lose a child. My heart breaks for the loss you feel. ((hugs))
I am going to get busy and read posts to catch up with everyone! I have missed you all!

I am having my daughters over for our "girls day" today- so have to get the house straightened up some, & make a couple of dips for veggies. We do munchies, and then will fix supper later.
Our grandson Greg came & spent the night last night with us. He is really excited about going into the Army. He was talking a mile a minute last night- he out talked me!!

Today wasn't a good day for me at all. The bright spot is I did join Curves today and will begin working out Monday and plan to go every night after work.
We did some shopping and got the car washed. Then I came home and had lunch. That's when it went downhill. I don't know what happened - I've had this same meal before - diced ham and green beans. I bought some little ham steaks that were 3 oz each. I had cut one up into thirds, and diced 1/3 (1oz) up for my meal. I've been handling foods that aren't pureed just fine. I chewed them extremely well too. I couldn't fini**** all. I got extremely nauseated, and began frothing at the mouth, so I guess I had "foamies". I kept spitting that out till the nausea passed. Went through that 3 times. Guess my pouch just rebelled against it for some reason. Have felt cruddy ever since.
For dinner, still not feeling the greatest, so I had about 3/4 of a scrambled egg. Whether that sits well remains to be seen. I guess for some reason, the ham made me dump?
I'm hoping tomorrow will be better. I have a lot I need to do around here.
I needed some slacks that fit me better, as mine are getting sloppy big. Went to WalMart - that was a mistake. I mean they had stuff, but at WalMart, a size 18-20 is marked as a 2X!!! Talk about ego deflating.... Anywhere else, it would be a 1X or an XL!!
Glad to see LaChelle is back online, and very glad to see Gail back. Don't listen to anyone criticizing you sweetie - they're just fools.
Hello to everyone else. How is Terry doing? How is Lyn today? Anyone know?
Lisa - thanks for the shout out and thinking of me.
Hope you all have had a good day.
Love ya
