Lyn update
Lyn continues to keep his eyes open for longer periods of time but still no following with his eyes of focusing on anything. He Did move his arms up today once when they were suctioning them which was the first. Earlier today he had a pain response to both arms and legs but tonight did not have anything.
They will do another EEG tomorrow. Possibly put a trach in next week for his vent instead of the tube in his mouth.
My step daughter got me out of the hospital for awhile this afternoon. I was very reluctant to go but had a good time once I was out. I have never been to Trader Joes and she goes there all the time in Los Angeles so we went there, then to Starbucks and Sams Club.
They have said Lyn will probably be here 2-3 more weeks, then to somewhere like Seton Speciality for 1-2 months then a rehab facility then either home or nursing home. My plan is to take him home.
Just keep praying that he regains something. Basically he doesn't focus on anyone and we don't know if he knows us or not and does not move anything except the one time with his arms today. Vital signs remain good and kidney function is good. We just have to get that brain a working. Neurologist said today again it just takes time but we have to realize that he may remain like he is. I am still not giving up.
The peds unit has been busy so I slept in a chair last night and will again tonight. Not near as comfortable as a bed but I am here. May look into an extended stay hotel in the next few days but I hate the thought of leaving the hospital late at night and going there and being away. We will see.
Thanks again for all of your thoughts prayers visits and things you have brought to keep my nutrition up.
Love, Terry
I just keep thinking that he will get beter, that he was a high risk case and his body just needs time to absorb the shock. Oh, do I ever hope I am right!!!
Sounds like talking to him not only helps him but you as well. Keep it up and I do believe it does good for the patient and the giver.
Our love,
Connie and Joe
