WOW! Here I GO!!
Surgeons office called yesterday. I am scheduled for surgery on March 10th! I just about had a heart attack! I was expecting April or May even!
I am so happy but pretty nervous. I am sure some of you know exactly how I am feeling. I go for my pre-op testing on the 17th.
I was wondering. My job requires me to sit at a desk (no lifting or physical labor). I know Dr. Evenson said that he thinks I will be able to get back to work in two weeks as long as there are no complications. I was just wondering if anyone has gone back earlier than two weeks?

Congratulations on your surgery date. That is great. Mine date came quicker than I thought it would too. It does give you a lot less time to think about it. I would use yourself as your judge to decide when to go back to work, if you can.

Honestly, you will be so glad you did this. I went back to work full-time after two weeks at the Post Office and did just fine. I had a little help with the heavy tubs, but other than that, I handled being on my feet and moving around quite a bit just fine. Everyone is different, of course, so you'll just have to "listen to your body" and do what it tells you.
Best of luck!

Congrats!
I know how you ae feeling. The time will fly by and be here before you know it.! I was scheduled quickly, like you.
I am on my feet and up and down, taking care of patients daily. I went back to my full job after 2 weeks. While at home I helped my hubby paint, decorated for Christmas and cleaned for family staying with us from out of town and tolerated it well.
Everyone is different. You have to trust your instincts. Only you will know what you can handle. Whatever you decide, I'm sure you'll do fantastic!!
...and just in time for spring...You'll have 2 reasons to be excited!

As far as getting back to work, I think it is so different for each of us its kind of hard to generalize it. I felt like crap, there is no way I could have worked until about 2 1/2 weeks out and for a really physical job I am thinking it would have probably been a month out. I had a reaction to the pain meds while in the hospital and did quite a bit of throwing up so that may have contributed to my soreness.
