Spoke with Terry

I just got off the phone with Terry. Here's the latest update: Yesterday's EEG showed slightly increased brain activity. The docs are a little discouraged that while Lyn will open his eyes, he will not focus or respond to clapping in front of his face, etc. He does not blink, etc. Terry still feels as though he can hear her because he will open his eyes when she speaks to him. She got a phone call last night around 3am because they wanted to let her know that he had begun having seizures. The seizures were not grand mal type, they were mild trembling but still seizures. They are repeating the EEG now to see if there are changes. A head CT last night showed no bleeds or strokes. His Right hand has a red streak going up it, they are unsure what it's from. They have ordered an ultrasound to be sure there isn't a blood clot in his arm. He responds to painful stimuli in his feet, but has not yet moved his arms. They have also started him on TPN for nutrition and are getting ready to start an insulin drip because the TPN tends to make blood sugars go up.

She is exhausted and has nothing to do but think about all the what ifs. The nurese have assured her it is not time to begin thinking about a "hospital bed and quitting her job and taking care of him".

Please keep them both in your prayers. She says there isn't anything she needs right now as several people brought her things yesterday.

Thanks for the update, Melissa. Of course she's exhausted, my goodness, how awful to see your husband in that condition. Here's hoping and praying that he gives her a smile soon! That would make all the difference in the world to her.

Melissa, I am new to the Indiana board, I mostly stay on the Lapband board or the KY forum cause I live closer to KY.   I don't know what is going on with Terri's husband but it sounds serious.   I would like to say if you talk to her never give up.   My mother 4 years ago went into the hospital because she fractured her hip, she was fine after surgery 2 days later, I got a call at midnight that my mother took a turn for the worse, went into cardiac arrest and revived and was in a coma and they put her on a vent.  I got to the hospital and the Dr's told me her lungs, liver, kidneys had all shut down and had only a 30% chance ofo making it through the night.

My faith and my mothers determination brought her through it after being in a coma for 60 days and then total of 82 days later she came home.  Come to find out she recieved a overdose of morphine.  But moral of this story  tell Terry not to give up and talk to him everyday, they do hear you as my mom said she did just could not respond to us.

My prayers will be with Terri and her family

Vicki, I will pass your message on. Terry's husband Lyn had his RNY last Tuesday. He cardiac arrested Friday morning for unknown causes. Thank you for praying for them.

I continue to keep them in my prayers & have my whole church prayer team praying, as well. Give her our love & tell her we asre standing in the gap with her for him.

Thanks for keeping us posted, I watched until I went to bed last night for an update on the EEG testing.  I knew she was awaiting the results when Sheila and I was there.  I continue to pray for Terry and Lynn.
