Periods messed up?

I am on my 3rd week of the Liver Reduction Diet.  I have lost 13 lbs.  I seem to be a few days late.  And NO, there is not a chance I could be pregnant.  I remember once, at my heaviest, my periods quit and my Dr. said I had gained too much weight and my body was not happy.  So, could I be messed up because I am loosing weight too?  I go back on the 12 for follow up and Psych.  I just wondered if this happened to any of you girls?

Thanks in advance

Sorry I had a hysterectomy and don't know the answer to that, but wanted to wish you luck at your appt on the 12th.  Hope you get it figured out.  Well done on the weight loss

Here's my thought, In our surgery class they told us that fat stores alot of hormones and when you rapidly lose weight the hormones in your body get out of wack.  I wouldnt be surprised if your weight loss is what caused you to be late.  With that being said, worrying about a late period can make it even later!  LOL  My period was MIA when I was at my heaviest and didn't come back regularly even yet.  So, enjoy the break from it and dont worry... it WILL come back.

Good luck at your appt.

Huge hugs,
Tracy

Tracy's explanation makes sense.  I would say it's very possible.  I have been having either a period in the middle of my cycle or it's been long.  My gynecologist says my weight loss is a contributing factor.
