I had time to come out and get my fill up of love and support from all of you while they are giving Lyn a bath.
His eyes are open occasionally !!!  And they have opened when I have said his name and in my mind, even though some of the nurses say it is just a reflex I am believing it is a positive sign.  Also his eyes were closed and I rubbed his foot and they opened.  They keep telling me this may not be anything but I am trying to keep positive.  I am the most uplifted since this happened.  he still has not moved anything but his eyes but I know it will take time.

Yes family has gone home for school and work.  I love having the kids here but this weekend in addition to my daughter spending the night my brother and SIL and Nephew and his wife stayed all night.  Don't get me wrong at all and I feel bad for saying this but it is kinda nice tonight to have some quiet time.  Being the mothering type I am I was worrying about them sleeping and eating and etc and it is easier just to worry about me and Lyn.  Guess that probably sounds ungrateful but I just felt I needed to be talking and entertaining.  I am so grateful though that they came and have been here to help--my brother would have been fine to stay forever and my niece and nephew but my SIL just has to be doing something all the time so she was constantly in his face doing something and constantly sitting on the bed hugging on him.  The nurse finally asked me if they got along and I said yes but she does aggravate him and get on his nerves and she said she noticed his blood pressure went up everytime she was in there.

I was offered a room again tonight in the parents lounge so that will be great.  I also napped for about 3 hours today in a chair.  My laundry is in now in the peds laundry room Melissa showed me and I will get a shower tonight or in the am.

I would love for any of you to stop by if you are in the area.  If I am not in the room I will probably be in one of the ICU lounges or the pediatric family waiting area or the cafeteria.  You can call me or have the nurses in ICU call me.  If anyone does come one thing I would love is some sugar free popsicles or fudgesicles.  I can put them in the fridge in the peds lounge.  I ate these a lot post op and am craving them but all they have downstairs have the sugar in them.  I will pay you when you bring them.  I have enough protein for a few more days.
Visitors do help the day pass quicker.

I will try to post when I can and if not whoever may call or come please post.

Love you all and we're blessed by your love friendship and prayers

Terry,

I think Lyn's responses are a good sign.  To me it shows he's hearing you and responding the best way he can to let you know he's there.  Our God is an awesome God and He hears the prayers of His children.  With all the people praying for Lyn, how can God not touch him?

I hope you can get some rest and do take care of yourself.   Love and prayers going out for you and for Lyn.

Terry,

You are such a good mom.  Family support is great, but when it turns into more work for you it's better in small doses.  Don't be hard on yourself.  Time for you and Lyn is a premium.

You have some good signs for Lyn.  Keep the faith.  We are here to support you both.  There are a lot of prayers being offered.  There is great power in that.

Hang in there.  You can get through this.

Terry, I'm glad you now have some quiet time to yourself. I could tell all the visitors were wearing on you. I will continue to pray and am so glad that my unit was able to help with a sleep room again tonight! I have everyone in that unit praying for you and Lyn, even my patient's mom! Told her about Lyn after I was quickly called back to her baby's room and had to leave our conversation quickly. She sends her prayers for a quick recovery too!

God bless you both!

Terry:  I work at the hospital and will try to stop by later this afternoon to see you two.  I just saw this post and didn't have time to go to the store, but I have a few SF popsicles over here in my office I will bring to you.  Thinking of you

Terry,

Our God is an awesome God!  He's working miracles for you right now.

I don't think ANYONE thinks you are being ungrateful by wanting some quiet time with Lyn or just quiet time for you.  You said yourself you've spent the week worrying about Lyn, your kids, your brother & SIL, Nephew & wife...when do you think you are going to get to YOU?  Won't be any help to Lyn if your sick and dehydrated because you've neglected yourself.  Please find some time for you today!  Even 5 minutes of peace and solitude for a deep breathe is better than nothing.

OH is lifting your family in prayer!!
