Happily moving along in my progress

Well after being bummed Wednesday when my 2nd SWL and psych appts were cancelled, I was very glad when Dr. Mattar's office agreed to let me weigh in officially today during my gallbladder post-op visit and had me meet with RuthAnne to make it official.  Well, needless to say I am healing just fine from that surgery and RuthAnne was quite pleased with my weight loss progress and impressed that I met Dr. Mattar's weight loss goal in a little over 1 month and was very interested in helping me move along the process faster.  So, instead of meeting with Psych on the 11th of Feb and the dietician on the 12th, they are moving me right up to see both Dr. Mattar and psych on Monday morning!  After that I will have completed all of the steps necessary for me to be submitted to insurance, which they said for Clarian employees is usually quick and painless! And after that they will schedule me for all of my pre-op tests and surgery!  So, it looks like I am on target to have surgery in early March...pending of course insurance approval.  I am so excited!

Sabrena,

I wondered if they cancelled your appt last week due the snow.  So, if I am reading your post correctly, you go today for your Psych.  Good Luck.  I am sure you will be fine.  I go on the 12th.
I am so excited for you.  I am 8 lbs from my goal weight he wanted me to get to.  I am sure I can do it.  We have so mu*****ommon.  So, just wanted to let you know I was thinking about you.
My husband put me on "texting probation" until we can change our cell plan in May.

Talk to you soon,
Michelle

Thanks!  Yes, I go today for my psych appt at 12:30 and yes they cancelled it due to the snow along with what was supposed to have been my 2nd supervised weight loss.  But, when I went in Friday for my postop appt I met with RuthAnne and they counted that as my "official" 2nd SWL.  I met my weight loss goal and exceeded it by 4 pounds (so now I am -24 pounds for him) so they are turning around and bringing me right back today for my 3rd and final weigh in, then I meet with Dr. Mattar to discuss again which procedure we are doing and he will explain everything in detail, everyone has to have this final appt before they get submitted to insurance, so my next step after today should be insurance approval and then I move to preop tests/class then surgery.  I was wondering how you were doing.  Keep in touch.

4 additional pounds??!!!   That is fantastic!  Hey, send me some of those recipes will ya?  My husband isn't being super supportive.  He went the the grocery store over the weekend and when he came home, he plopped down on the couch with a pint of ice cream and proceeded to give me a little smirk and began eating it.  Without any control of my brain or mouth I blurted out,
"You S.O.B"  It was like a had a sudden case of turrets.  So, he got pissed at me and left the room.  I found it very hard to apologize for my words.  He thinks he is being supportive, well, that wasn't exactly helpful!!   I am sure we will laugh about it later, but he isn't getting it right now.

I was officially down 25.6 pounds at my weigh in today, so 5.6 over what Dr. Mattar wanted.  Trust me, when Dr. Mattar came in, the first thing he did was look at my weight loss and then promptly thanked me for losing so much weight to make his job easier.  I am cleared from him now and psych (very easy!) and am now being submitted to insurance and while I wait to hear from them they are sending me for my preop tests....they keep you nice and busy so that you don't have time to think about the insurance wait, lol.  Anyway, after that I come in for the all day nutrition preop class and then am scheduled for surgery.  I can't believe how fast the time has flown by, I started this process December 15th and in less than 2 months am being submitted for approval.  Should have surgery by the 3 month mark.  The website for all the recipes I cook is at www.livingafterwls.com

I had WLS amost 2 months ago now. Make sure you surround yourself with supportive people. Can I offer some advice? The best thing you can do it grocery shop yourself. That way you control what comes into the house. I know it's hard bu****ching other people eat things that you can no longer eat is going to be the way it is for you. You have to learn to deal with it. Today I bought my husband some Ben and Jerrys at the grocery. He's lucky, he's a normal weight!! And by the way what your husband did was wrong!! Let him know how important it is that he is supportive!! You'll need all the support you can get. Good Luck!!
