Had to get out for a while!

We got pounded hard down here in Southern Indiana.  The ice and snow have made it very bad here.  Our power has been out since 4 pm  Tuesday.  No hope of it coming back on anytime soon either.  We have the RV backed up to the garage and the generator from it hooked into our furnace so we do have heat.  We just did that last night.  We've been keeping the house toasy warm with our fireplace but my Dad was freaking out because Troy has been at work 24 hrs and Dad is certain our house will burn down without a man in the house.  Who says chivalry doesn't exist?  Troy came in this morning and was completely pooped.  No one bothered to show up for the night shift at work so he stayed.  We put him to bed and decided to come to the office for a little technology fix.  My daughter is on the secretary's computer playing on disneychannel.com and I'm on here.

It's really scary down here.  Branches are breaking off of the trees and pulling power lines down everywhere!  We have to four-wheel drive through a field to get to the main road because our driveway is totally blocked with many, many whole trees down.  It's going to take some major cleanup to clear it.

There are so many without power and heat.  Several places have opened up as shelters.  I hope people are taking advantage of them.  Even our grocery stores are without power and are doing things the old fashioned way (paper and pencil).  If you don't have cash or a check, they are taking down your info and will let you pay later.  People really surprise me at times like these.  There are a lot of bad things about living in a small town but we have our good times too.

I hope everyone is doing ok.

Love and smooches,
Jacqui

Oh Jacqui, I hope your power comes back soon. I can't imagine being without power for days. You're welcome to come camp out here . But sounds like you have things under control there. I love that the grocery stores are working with people, I hope everyone comes back to pay.

Hi my sweet Sisterchick,
I am so glad you are all ok. I agree- small towns do have a big heart! When we had a power outage due to ice, local farmers brought fresh milk in for everyone that needed it! That, & the store did the same thing as yours- after 10 days were were up & running again. those generaters are wonderful, aren't they?
I just LOVE your Dad- so concerned for his girls!!! Yes, he's my kind of  a gentleman!!!
Be extra careful out & about, please. Hope everything is back to normal in no time!
Saying prayers for all of you.
Here's a  bunch of (((((((((((((hugs ))))))))))))) from me- Love you bunches~!!!!!

You be careful out there little girl!  Hope the power gets on very quickly and no additional damage occurs from all the ice.  I thought about you and wondered how you were faring.  My place is small, but you are welcome here whenever you need a place.

Love ya kiddo!
