These are getting to know each other questions we do just for fun.  Please jump in and answer them!  We love to read all the answers.

Today's Topic:  Pets

1.  How many pets do you currently own and what are they?

We currently have one dog and two cats.  The dog is a male Minature Pinscher and the cats are.... Cats.  Just born outside and abandoned cats.

2.  What are your pet's names and is there a specific reason for it?

My Minpin was named Reese Cup because I got him as a gift after my surgery.  Marc got him for me so he could go on walks with me.  I named him that because I loved Reese Cups the most before surgery.  It was my way of always having them in my life.  LOL  %%%CRAZY%%%

HIS cats are named Harley after the motorcycle (previous owner named) and the baby kitten is named Maggie by my daughter after the baby girl on simpsons.

3.  Do you remember your first pet and what was it?

I consider my first pet to be my pony that I got for my 4th birthday.  She was named Maggie and I won a trophy with her when I was five.  She is the first one I ever remember specifically being my own and my own responsibility.  I loved her so much!

Have fun with your answers.... Huge hugs,
Tracy

OOhhhh I love a chance to talk about my animals....
1.  How many pets do you currently own and what are they?

I have five pets, 3 dogs and 2 cats!!!!  All have been rescued from bad or horrible conditions.  I have a Chinese Crested dog that came to me from hurricane Katrina.  She wsa surrendered from a puppy mill after the hurricane.  She only in the past couple of months has allowed my hubby to pet her, it took three years!!

2.  What are your pet's names and is there a specific reason for it?

Dog #1 is a chinese crested mentioned above , her name is Daisy, she came to me already named.
Dog #2 is Zoey we call her "baby dog" she is little dog that I got from a lady who had two litters of puppies at the same time and was frantically trying to give them away.  When I took Zoey to the vet the morning after getting her my vet advised me to take her back.  She had worms (no biggie) and a heart murrmer (biggie) we decided to keep her and not take her back to the horrible conditions I had seen her living in, her mom was so matted you couldnt tell her front from her back.  After I got rid of her worms and she was eating good and getting healthy her heart murrmer corrected itself!! yeahhhhhh.
Dog #3 is Rascal, he came from the Morgan Co Humane Society.... we call him Meathead.  This is the worlds sweetest dog, he is a clown too!!
Cat #1 is Fat Cat, he is a big fat black long haird cat who I have had for ten years and was about 5 when we got him from the Indianapolis Humane society.  He is precious to us in every way.
Cat #2 is Little Diddle, I brought him home from a trip to Detroit.  My friend was losing her home to foreclosure and her cat had kittens so she was also desperate to place these animals.  He is a hemingway kitty and has an extra toe on each foot, so he has big feet.

3.  Do you remember your first pet and what was it?
My first pet was Junior a black mixed breed dog that a friend gave me.  He would follow me to school each day, some days he would even sneak into school with me...oh I would be so embarassed!!  Each day he would be at the corner waiting to walk me home.  I wish I could kiss his lil face today for caring so much about the sad little girl in me.

1.  How many pets do you currently own and what are they?

We have 3 cats.

2.  What are your pet's names and is there a specific reason for it?

Junior - a jet black cat that is 12 years old.  He got his name because I had another black cat when I got him, and he looked just like the other one, so I named him "Midnight Jr."  Over the years, it just became Junior.

Harley Davidson - a tri color tiger named after the motorcycle.  He's just a little over a year old.  We got him from the Morgan Co. Animal Shelter.

Dexter - a beautiful ultra long haired Maine Coon.  He got his name from a wonderful little tiger kitten we had that fell seriously ill and had to be put to sleep in April of last year.  He just has that same look of gentleness in his eyes.  We missed the other kitten so much that we gave him the same name.  The name originally came from the TV show, which is one of my favorites!  He's a little over a year old also, and came to us as a stray - he hid out under our car, and when we saw him, jumped right into our arms as if to say, "I'm home Mom and Dad!!"

3.  Do you remember your first pet and what was it?

We always had cats when I was a kid.  The first one that was all mine was when I was about 8 years old and our cat Blackie had kittens.  I got to keep one of them for myself and I named him Peppi (after the Pepe LePew cartoon... LOL).  That cat definitely had 9 lives.  He was taken to the animal shelter, and escaped and came back home.  The neighbor shot him with a BB gun and he survived.  I remember picking him up and blood running all over me - it was traumatic for me (and for the cat, I'd imagine! )  I loved that ol' cat!

I love to talk about my pets also!!!  I think it is because all of my human kids have grown...
1.  Currently I have two crazy dachshunds--both rescues--I even drove to St. Louis to pick up one from a place called Flaw Dogs--what an experience--I cryed all the way home....
2.  My brown dachshund is named Kiki because someone slammed her tail in a door and never got it fixed.  I rescued her from Anderson, In.  She weighed 7 lbs. and lived with a goat... She now weights 12ibs. and is loved by all that meets her...
My black & brown longhair is named Bella from St. Louis she is attached to my hip and still hides from my husband(he isn't mean-just male)
3.  My first pet was a cat named Tammy--I named her that because I thought it was a cool named-I always hated the name Paula...

1.  How many pets do you currently own and what are they?

We have a german shepard mix that is 2 yrs old.

2.  What are your pet's names and is there a specific reason for it?

Our baby's name is Lotus. She was already named when we got her from the rescue. We didn't want to confuse her with a new name. Bill thinks of the Lotus position (yoga or something I think). I think of the flower...and my email program at work.

3.  Do you remember your first pet and what was it?

Growing up, we always had a dog. I can't remember which one was first but other than my mom's small dogs (pickaneese (sp??) or terriers), they were usually mutts. I think the mutts make more loveable pets for kids.

Sherri, my mom had a Pekingnese when I was a teenager.  His name was Sparky.  We got him when he was 8 weeks old, and had 2 cats at the time.  Since he was raised with cats from 8 weeks old on, he thought he was a cat!!  He never learned how to bark, and used the cats' litter box!  He even tried to groom himself like the cats did!  Thanks for "sparking" my memory of Sparky!

Like everyone else I love to talk about pets that I have and have had. SO the answer to the first question is:
1.How many pets am I currently blessed to have in my life( as I do not consider that I own the pets they own me and my heart)?
The answer is 3. I have 1 dog and 2 cats.
2. What are my pets names and is there a specific reason for them?
The dog is a Siberian Husky and she is always on the run so hyper. The reason I named her what I did is because her mothers name was Mika and then I named her after Tamika Catchings the great female basketball player on the Indiana Fever. There is a resemblance as they both run alot and they both jump alot also. Then there is Rudy he was named that because he has a redish nose and I went to get him around Christmas time. Then there is Ebony. He is my recuse cat that I recused from the Red Gold parking lot after seeing him there 3 nights in a row during an ice storm. He is a beautiful black cat with the prettiest gold eyes. Everyone that knows him say he is to pretty to be a boy but him and Rudy have both been neutered. I am sorry to say due to our financial situation we will have to find them ( at least the cats ) another home. If you know of anyone who would love these great kids let me know.
I know there isn't a question about this but MY ABSOLUTE FAVORITE PET IS AND WILL ALWAYS BE MY BABY! SNOWY WHO WAS TAKEN FROM ME AT THE RIPE OLD AGE OF 14 YEARS. WE GOT HER AND SHE GOT US AT THE AGE OF 4 WEEKS OF AGE. I LOVED HER WITH ALL OF MY HEART AND MISS HER MORE THAN ANYTHING. SHE WAS AND IS STILL LOVED!
3. The first pet I remember was a dog named Prince that I had when I was about 4. He was a Pomerainin not spelled right. He was so fluffy and my mother gave him a bath and I thought she had tried to kill him and cried so hard that I will never forget it. He went from this ball of hair to a skinny starving looking dog. I still laugh about how stupid I was!
Thanks for the chance to talk about all of my kids! And one day I will be reunited with my baby Snowy at the Rainbow Bridge! I can't wait for that day to come! Michelle

Girl, you keep pickin' topics I have no answers for! Last week it was T.V., which I don'****ch; and this week it's pets, which I ain't got none of!

I grew up on a farm and we had animals all over the place, but they weren't really "pets." Most of them we either hunted with or eventually ate.  My quarter horses were useful...I mean, I rode them, showed them, loved them to pieces! Hard to think of a horse as a "pet," though. We live in town now and don't really have room for an outside pet, and I don't like animals in the house, never have. So, there you are. We have lots of raccoons and squirrels in our trees, does that count??

1.  How many pets do you currently own and what are they?

We have 3 dogs.  A 10 year old Rottwieler, a 5 year old German Shepherd and a 3 year old wild boar coated miniature dachshund, all females.

2.  What are your pet's names and is there a specific reason for it?

My Rottie is officially Czirga's Auna Von Metzgerhund, but we call her Auna. I picked her out myself from a very nice litter of pups in St Louis.  Her daddy was the 1996 German Klubseiger inner. (Top dog on Germany).  She is my baby and can NEVER be replaced.  She loves to go to PetsMart and always picks out elderly and handicapped people to go and love on.

Venus is a sable coated girl that my hubby had when we met.  She's a beautiful girl, though a little submissive.  I don't know about her name. She and Auna have had a good time boxing and rolling around in the snow today while I shovel.

My little doxie is named Bella.  She was my wedding present from my husband.  He was working nights and wanted a little dog to keep me company while he was gone.

3.  Do you remember your first pet and what was it?

My first pet was a 13 inch beagle, named Sunshine.  We named her after John Denver's song Sunshine on My Shoulders.  Unfortunately she wa**** by a vehicle and we lost her much too soon.
