Does anyone have any insight on bladder problems, ie prolasped bladder??  Post hysterectomy?  I am worried that is happening to me now.  I am dreading calling the doctor and confirming what I am feeling.

Leah,

I had problems pre-hysterectomy and was going to a urlogist. He put in a urethra sling at the same time as my gyn did the hysterectomy. This was all done vaginally. Hurt like heck for not having any outward incisions.

My step-daughter had to have a bladder sling put in a few years ago. She hadn't had a hysterectomy and it was due to her weight. They did this laproscopically. I think she only had two very tiny incisions for it right along the pubic line.

I'm having problems with my bladderr post hysto. Because of the amount of cancerous tissued removed up to my bladder, I was told they put my bladder in a sling and did post pubic cath. I had the cath for about 8 weeks, about as long as it took me to learn to repee. Well... here I am a year later and I'm having problems holding my pee. I'm at the point where I wear depends. I'm chronic to bladder infections. I've been on five different meds and still......

At this point my PCP refuses to deal with it anymore and tells me to see the surgeon who did my surgery about my problem. I called his office (waiting on a call back) and was given the feeling that because this is a speciality surgeon (gyno oncologist) that it's not his norm and I'll more then likely have to recieve a referral to another doctor.

I've had some major health issues in all of 2008. I was hoping and crossing my fingers that I would be better this year and so far... it's not looking that way. Other then being cancer free - WOOOOWOOOOO!

I had a hysterectomy when I was 27.  Since then I have had problems with stress incontinence.  It gradually got worse over the years.  I'm hoping the weight loss will improve things.  I've heard the surgery to fix the prolapsed bladder is quite painful...!
