I'm afraid to see my dr
Jeanna I can remember my first follow up appointment. I was so afraid of what my surgeon was going to say to me. I was thinking over and over in my head how can I explain my lack of weight loss to him so he would not think I am doing something I should not be doing. I was following every rule to the letter and going to Curves three days a week but still was losing weight at a turtles pace.
When I had my appointment my surgeon was such a kind reassuring soul. He made me feel so much better about things. I bet you will be surprised when you get there. Hang in there and keep your chin up. Each day just do your best and before you know it you will be well on your way to a new you.

33 lbs lost prior to surgery!
Keep your chin up and keep trying.
Huge hugs,
Tracy
As for the doc - what's he gonna do? Turn you over his knee? I think not! It's his job to encourage you and work at tweaking things - your diet or blood levels - to make sure you are getting the most out of your surgery.
Don't be afraid to see him. Remember - you pay him. He works for YOU.
Jeanna honey - If he does turn you over his knee - will you let me know so I can switch Doctors?
On a more serious note. Don't be nervous! The docs set goals for us and EVERYONE is different Just because I may loose 4 lbs this week doesn't mean I'll loose that every week...believe me I sat at the same weight for 3 1/2 weeks before I got on my scales today. If you're doing what they've told you to the weight will come off.
Take a deep breathe when you go in to see him...and remember he puts his pants on the same way you do in the morning...you just may wiggle a little more to get into them!
Hugs!!

highest wgt/ day of surgery/ current wgt / goal wgt
52 lbs lost before surgery!!

Please know you are not alone....
5 lbs. a week is REALLY a lot. My nutritionist told me that for the first 6 months or so, women usually lose about 3 lbs. per week, and men about 5 lbs. per week. You're not really that much under the norm. Some people just lose more slowly than others. As your body recovers, I would be willing to bet your weight loss will speed up.
As Tracy said, your doc is not there to punish you, but to help you. Go in there with confidence and just talk with him. He may have some suggestions you haven't thought of. You're doing great, keep up the good work!
Jenny
Best of luck.
