My meeting at school
Well i had Andys appt at school this morning and i took Joey for my support.
I need to tell you i was on my best behavior but my pouch was a diffrent story it was back talking (or growling like a bear) thru the whole meeting.
Anyway the pschcolgist was there ,guidance couns, teachers, special ed cordinator.Joey ,Andy and myself.
The teacher who said these things was not there she is on maternity leave.
They said i have an excellent child who is excelling in biology, german, alegbra and english ,he is not anti social (he just chooses who he speaks with)he has no add,no asbergers.
He is a mature, intelligent young man who knows how to handle his emotions and he can turn off what annoys him.
They said as of now he will keep his iep and that he no longer needs the services if i dont want them.
The pschcologist told Andy that the teacher didnt mean it the way it came across, that in a room filled with rowdy kids who cant behave ,you look over everyday and see the 1 child and he isnt even paying attention to whats going on around him you get worried because he isnt the norm.
Andy told him sir they annoy me they act like 2nd graders and i just ignore it because she doesnt have her class under control. All my other classes arent like this one.
Well anyways i did raise my voice but just wanted you to know my child is normal .
Thanks for all your advice.................

That is good news! He's getting good grades and is obviously VERY respectful of his elders. You are doing a great job with your kids! I know it must be a relief to know he's normal though. I mean how many of us panicked when we had to talk to the shrink? Weren't we ALL relieved to find out we were sane?
Now your Son KNOWS he's ok and there is no longer any doubts. What a great day for you!!

Kudos to Andy for a job well done and a mind well spoken! You would think they might investigate the classroom behavior after this but I doubt they will! Lucky for them you were having a good day even though your tummy wasn't!
Lisa, hug that boy for me. I am so proud of him for pointing out the real problem to them. Maybe a little truth in the matter was just what they needed. Andy was a great kid at the exchange and I saw NOTHING at all wrong with his behavior. Your boys are good kids. They should wish more kids behaved like them at that school.
I am glad you made it through and did well. Now settle down your pouch with some hot soup and relax.
Love ya girl!
Huge hugs,
Tracy

Lisa,
That is awesome news!
I hate it when children get a label because they are different! They are bound to be "different" but it is bad enough for them to go through the social issues and comments from other classmates, but it is tough when they feel degraded by an adult! I truly hope that when he told him- that wasn't what she meant, that that was the case! You have done an awesome job raising them! They are very respectful and you should be proud!

P.S - Markie has now washed and tried on EVERYTHING and has kept quite a bit! He said, mom, tell her and her boys thanks, I loved ALOT of it! he was surprised! I have seen him wear a few different things already! Thanks again! He is enjoying them!

That is wonderful news. We have to keep fighting for our children and grandchildren. My sister has fought for her boys since they have been in school. They are both different from the other kids. They are both like your son. Have no truck with unruly behavior. And both are excellent students. Her youngest would rather sit in the sanctuary for services rather than go to Children's Church because the kids aren't expected to sit and be still for a lesson, just run amok. I'm proud of you for standing up for your son. Way to go girl.
