Sped bump in my surgery :(

Ugh, I called my insurance today, and they told me that in order to get approved for gastric bypass surgery, I have to go through the hospital that I work at (Community Hospital) which means that I can't have surgery with Dr. Caccuci like I originally planned.  In addition to switching surgeons, I did some research with Community and you have to go through a 6 month program in order to get approved.  This kinda sucks, but I suppose I will be able to stick it out for 6 months so I can get this done.

I am sorry that you will have a delay in the process, however the six months will not be as bad as it sounds.  You can begin working with your surgeon during this time and learn as much as you can about life as a post op.  Make sure you start attending support group and even practice some of the rules of eating before hand to insure you have a successful weight loss journey as a post op.  Best of luck to you and keep your chin up, you can do this!

You are right, it is just a speed bump.  Keep on track with a good attitude and you will achieve success!  The 6 months will fly by quicker than you think.

Hang in there!  It's gonna happen before you know it!

Huge Hugs,
Tracy

It is just a speed bump, but I know exactly how you feel. I just started my 6 month dr supervised diet. I have one appointment done and five more to go. I know this will probably go really fast. Before I know it summer time will be here and I will be that much closer to having surgery. We will be going through this together so let me know if you want to chat or email
