Morning all!

Not much on the agenda today, lots of cases, so will be working tomorrow and Saturday this week.  Seems like I can never get caught up, but job security I suppose.

Went by the facility in Carmel last night to check on Nan (SIL).  She was sleeping.  I stayed fora while but she never woke up.  Noel said she had started her PT yesterday and was wore out.  The place is beautiful and hopefully they will take better care of her than the last place.  Besides the health care part, they have assisted living and it is wonderful.  The dining room looks like a restaurant, linen table cloths and napkins, leaded glass around the walls.  The ladies were all dressed for dinner.  I wouldn't mind a place like that when the time came (if I could afford it).  With it being so close to home I will probably drop in on my way home from work a couple times a week, just to check on Nan.

Last night was my night for family contact.  I talked to all three brothers, saw one SIL and talked to the other two.  The only person I haven't heard from yet is my sister Marsha on how her appointment with the new surgeon went and what she has to do next.  I will try and call her today to see what she found out.

Gail, hope you are feeling better.  I hate going to the dentist.  Avoid it whenever possible.

Tracy, best wishes on the interview today, you go wow em girl.  If they're smart they'll hire you.

Scott, good luck in your job hunt.  I'm sorry I don't have a clue as to who may be hiring.

Christie, hope your day goes better at work today.

May everyone be blessed today with good health, peace of mind, body, and spirit.

Julie

Hi Julie!!  You know your family is in my thoughts!  I am so happy that you are impressed with the assisted living facility.  That has to be some relief.
Have a great day!
Blessings to you all, Leah

Morning all!

I just ran the kids to school... its sooo cold this morning!  I am preparing myself for the interview at 2pm.  I am so excited about this.  I have a good feeling about it.  I just hope that it all goes well.

I am getting better slowly.  The antibiotics have kicked in and the pressure is gone.  Now the pain is just soreness.  If I can get rid of that, I will be good as new.

Scott, keep you chin up and a positive attitude.  I know how hard it is to find a job right now.  Wish I knew of somewhere to send ya.  Marion has NOTHING around here right now.

Gail, I hope you feel better soon!  Ulisha too!

Julie thanks for thinking of me today.  With all you have going on.... I was impressed that you thought of me.

Have a great day and stay safe!

Huge hugs,
Tracy

Good Morning Gail and Everyone Else,

Today has found me in a better mood. Went to see the specilaist yesterday about my colonoscopy results. NO CANCER! Just radiation irratation in the two bottom sections of my colon from all the radiation I endured from last spring when I had cervical and uterine cancer. He said I"ll have to live the rest of my life with the irratation. There's no way that it will ever fully clear up but if it ever gets worse then what it is right now, I'm suppose to see him ASAP! He was such a great guy. Awesome bedside manner. So now that leaves my regular cancer screening in March yet to face, and I'm pretty sure I'm gonna pass that one too.

Still having problems with RSD flare up so it's hard for me to walk, have socks, slippers, or shoes on, and pants (anytype) irratate my skin on my shin (oppps that rhymed). All I can do is just take my meds and keep myself comfy.

A local lady here that I know had WLS December 23rd. She just got her exercise clearance so we've been going to the Rec Center (across the street from my house) and walking and doing some weight lifting on our arms to start toning them. We walking roughly 4 miles everyday. It's nice to have someone to motivate me to get out of my house and "move". Of course she's been asking me all kinds of questions. She's already hyped as she's already lost 30+ lbs since her surgery. I've told her about our board but she's a co-runner of a board on Sparklepeople and perferrs to stay there for right now, but is very interested in meeting everyone at the next clothing exchange.

Quinntin's ready for breakfast - so I bid you all adiue!

Everyone have a blessed and happy day.

Hi Jodi

That is great news!  So happy for you!  I still don't know what RSD is though. Going to have to type that in to WebMD and find out!
Blessings to you all, Leah

RSD:

Reflex sympathetic dystrophy (RSD) or complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS), is a chronic, painful, and progressive neurological condition that affects skin, muscles, joints, and bones. Pain may begin in one area or limb and then spread to other limbs. RSD/CRPS is characterized by various degrees of burning pain, excessive sweating, swelling, and sensitivity to touch. RSD/CRPS appears to involve the complex interaction of the sensory, motor, and autonomic nervous systems, and the immune system.

Two types of RSD/CRPS have been defined:
Type 1 - without nerve injury
Type 2 (formerly called causalgia) - with nerve injury

Both types share the same signs and symptoms.

The symptoms of RSD/CRPS may progress in three stages—acute, dystrophic, and atrophic.

The acute stage occurs during the first 1-3 months and may include burning pain, swelling, increased sensitivity to tou*****reased hair and nail growth in the affected region, joint pain, and color and temperature changes.

The dystrophic stage may involve constant pain and swelling, limb feels cool to the touch and looks bluish, muscle stiffness and wasting of the muscles (atrophy), early bone loss (osteoporosis). These symptoms usually occur 3–6 months after development of the disorder.

During the atrophic stage, the skin becomes cool and shiny, increased muscle stiffness and weakness occur, and symptoms may spread to another limb.

Characteristic signs and symptoms of sympathetic nervous system involvement are
Burning pain
Extreme sensitivity to touch
Skin color changes (red or bluish)
Skin temperature changes (hot or cold)

Pain is usually disproportionate to the temputer degree and also pain effects from humidity changes.

I have type 2 stage 3 mirrored RSD in both feet from toes to knees. Mirrored diagnosis just mainly means that one limb has the actual disease but because of how the disease affects the nerves and the brain, my brain and body reacts as though BOTH limbs are affected.
