New here with Dr. Mattar and Clarian Bariatrics

I'm Sabrena, 33yrs old. Work as a surgical tech for Clarian Health (not at north though).  I live on the westside of Indy.  I went to my first informational seminar December 11th, got my consultation for 4 days later with Dr. Mattar on Dec. 15th, had a sleep study done on the 18th and had my gallbladder out Jan 8th with Dr. Mattar.  I am currently in the process of his 3 month liver reduction diet, he wants me to lose 20 pounds, as of this morning I have lost the 20 in 1 month.  I have  a BMI of 41.2, PCOS, Gerd, joint/back pain, and my father died 6 months ago from a massive heart attack at the age of 58 (he had his first attack at 46).  I am going to have lap RNY.  I am excited to meet other Indy RNY's and more of Dr. Mattar's patients.

Dr. Mattar is a wonderful surgeon.  We didn't have one, but we attend the support group at Clarian so have gotten to know him through that.  Are you planning on going to support group tomorrow night, if so, look for us.

Yes I am.  I went to my first support group meeting on the 7th and met a friend's mother then. I am trying to post a pic on here, but keep getting the "too big" message.

Dr. Mattar is amazing. That is really the only way that I can describe him. You made an excellent choice.

Welcome aboard.  Great things are in store for you.  I hope things go well for you.
I wouyld suggest you stay involved with Clarian support groups.  It is a positve action to a new life.  A lot of us view our surgery dates as our re-birthday.

Welcome! I had my surgery with Dr Gomez at Wishard but just recently transferred to Dr Mattar. I have been going to Supoort Group at Clarion through out most of my journey and love it there. I hope to meet you tomorrow night. Jana Wolf

Thanks!  I will work on getting a picture on here tonite so people can see what I look for me and help look for me at the support groups.  I am following on this journey with 2 other co-workers, one of whom is also going with Dr. Mattar, and the other is having a lap band with one of the other surgeons in his group.  I love Dr. Mattar, my husband is already very impressed with him just from me having my gallbladder removal.  His bedside manner was impeccable.  And I work in the OR so I know!  Dr. Mattar was recommended to me from his scrub tech that actually scrubs with him, those are the best people to ask.  So, if you see me at support group, say hi, I am kinda shy but am excited to meet new people and know how very important those support groups are, this will be my second one.  Thanks for all of the warm welcomes!
