What Is Your Favorite Way To Relax?
Good evening! I was just thinking about taking it easy for the rest of the evening, after I get this next batch of transcription done. Thought it would be fun to see what you guys do when you just want to chill out and relax.
I love to pop in a favorite movie. I've watched my favorites dozens of times, and I never get tired of them. They include The Fugitive, Jumanji, any of the Star Wars movies (though I prefer the older ones), any of the Indiana Jones movies, any of the Lord of the Rings movies, Ice Age, Independence Day, The Princess Bride, Ever After, The African Queen...oh, there are so many!
I also love to read. I'm currently trying to catch up on the old classics I haven't read yet. Right now I'm reading Pilgrim's Progress. Next I think I'll read one of Jane Austen's novels, probably Emma.
What about you? What do you do to relax?

Hi Jenny
My favorite thing to do to chill out is... getting a mani-pedi! I love those! The whole thing is just a relaxing experience for me. I feel pampered.
Like you had mentioned too, reading is a great way for me to relax. I get a good book and I am a happy camper.
Another way for me to relax is the pick up my crochet and make something. Usually I have atleast 2 dogs on my lap when I am attempting to do this. I get my Pom, Athena on my legs and then my daughter's ****er spaniel Sophie curls right up on me and lays her head on my chest. She is such a baby.... Petting these babies is a great way for me to relax.
This is Sophie wearing a hat I made for her!! Isn't she adorable!!! Look at that face!!!

I love to sew, right now I am organizing my sewing room and changing everything around so I put myself out of commission. As soon as I can get some time off work and find a lil bit more energy I will finish lol. Its really close to being done. I am teaching myself to quilt and I absolutly love to do quilting. It takes a lot of patience and is not something you get much instant gratification from though.
Leah I also sew for my dogs lol. I have made them tons of coats, leashes, collars, bandanas, and beds lol.

I'm jealous of anyone who can crochet, knit, or do anything creative. Unfortunately, that gene seems to have passed me by. My gramma used to crochet granny square afghans and they were just beautiful. She tried to teach me to crochet and I just never could get it. Oh well.
I would LOVE to do the mani-pedi, but I never have done that. Since I type all the time I can't have the pretty nails that so many women do. I think they're gorgeous, but I have to keep mine too short.
I'll have to stick with my movies and books, I guess!

It all depends on the season I guess. In the summer, we like to go 'camping'...especially at Hope's or Indiana Beach. Our rv has all the conveniences of home so I'm not sure how 'true' camping tent campers would thing of it. lol.
In the fall, I'm preparing foods on my dehydrator. That is really relaxing and rewarding for me.
I am an avid reader (Stephen King 'Just after Sunset' is my latest) and enjoy doing Sudoku puzzle books or Majgong if I'm on the pc.
I know. I didn't mention movies..and that is what we were going to do yesterday. I did some sudoku instead. Bill's tummy was upset so he laid down. I didn't want him to miss any of the movies.

Camping! Oh, I love that. We used to do that a lot, but we did "primitive" camping. We took the horses and went on weekend trail rides, camping out in tents in the primitive area. It's been a long time, but I sure loved it.
Have you read "Duma Key?" That one was one of King's weirder ones! I also enjoyed "Lisey's Story." I haven't read all of his, but the ones I have read certainly hook you. I bought my son "Just After Sunset" for Christmas, and fully intend to borrow it once he's done with it!
