Sunday morning
Good morning eveyone!
It really was terrific seeing you all yesterday. What a fantastic turn out! There were so many people who were there that I didn't have a clue about who many of you were. It'd be amazing if we outgrew Robin's church, huh? If one of you are the proud parent of a couple of teenage girls that were there yesterday, could you drop me an email at [email protected]? I'm hoping there wasn't more than one of you that had teenage girls hanging out together...lol!
Becky & Emil...Bill is very uncomfortable going to crowded places with his vision being so bad...so...he wouldn't come with me yesterday. But..made the comment before I left yesterday 'oh sure! You are going to be able to get some gizzard stew!'. He was teasing me but let me tell you, Bill was THRILLED to see that I brought home enough gizzard stew for both of us! We had it for dinner last night. I think there's enough for one of us to have some for lunch. Hmmm...I hope Bill's in the mood for Chilli or ham & beans!
After I left the exchange, I went by and saw Shellie. They have her at RHI..the Rehab Hospital of Indiana. It wasn't too far from Robin's church so that worked out well. It looks like a really nice place (MUCH nicer than Seton!). Her nurse told me that usually people have hundreds of questions because they are so unfamiliar with rehab hospitals and wanted to know what mine were. LOL! I had to explain why she would not get that from our family. They aren't use to family members having a first hand knowledge from a patient's view of a rehab center. I really would recommend there before Seton (or Hook's rehab) to anyone. They have a pool, spa, kitchens, apartments, laudermat, etc in addition to super huge gym's for physical therapy. I did not see a single person laying in their bed (other than Shellie!). At Seton, if you remember, I was the rarity in that I could talk even. Shellie is still being Shellie. She didn't like the nurse telling her that she had to put on her call light every time she wanted to get out of bed at all. She said 'well at Methodist, they were letting me get up on my own to go to the bathroom'. Shortly after that, the nurse left the room and I was putting up Shellie's clothes & stuff. I went to hand Shell her cell phone...which is a really small one compared to mine....and she acted like she could move her hand to hold it. Come on! You can get up to go to the bathroom but you can't use one side of your body at all????
The rest of my evening had bouts of stress too so I am hoping for a peaceful day today. I have about 4-5 more boxes (non-clothing) of Jean's stuff to go through but I think I'm going to ask Bill if he'd like to watch a few movies and save those for my next days off. I think LAZY will be the word for the day! I have 3 meetings tomorrow to start my week, I should be finding out if I have to do those daily injections in my stomach soon and find out what kind of tests were thought of at that small bowel conference this weekend, and we are gearing up for Bill's next cornea transplant....all while finishing the loose ends from Jean's death and Shellie's brain surgery. So yep..I NEED to de-stress! Oh..I did tan for 10 minutes yesterday. I'm going to have a 5"x3" tan line 'box' on my belly from my gauze bandage (for the open wounds that are +16 months old). Man, I needed that!!!! I'll stick to 10 minutes each time for a week or two and work my way up to 20 minutes of wonderful de-stressing time JUST FOR ME.
Well..you all have a terrific day today!

Sherri - it was absolutely great to finally meet you in person yesterday! There were so many people, it was overwhelming I think. I was just super glad to meet you, Antonette, Jeannie, LadyGirl, Leah, and many others, plus getting to see Lisa, Tracy, Shanna, Ellen and Melissa again.
What fun!
Looking forward to the next one - (Robin, you are absolutely gorgeous! You have to update your avatar girl!!)

Chris,
It was wonderful meeting you as well. It's great putting a face to the lady who makes me choke on my water from laughing! LOL! I hope you are able to participate in future activities. It's alot easier to visit I think when it's smaller groups (like impromptu dinners) or for longer periods (camp-outs). I am looking forward to getting to know you, and Leah, Jeanie, Melissa, etc, etc, etc so much better!!!!

Just wanted to stop in and say Hi and that I had a great time at the exchange, all though I didnt talk to alot of you, I still enjoyed being there. I am kinda one of those that until I know you I'm not much of a talker and I'm not real good on the going up and introducing myself (have always been that way) but I am fine with any body striking up a conversation with me lol. Lets just say my husband is quite happy I went cuz now he doesn't have to complain about the 4 huge bags of clothes that have sitting around in the bedroom. He threaten to take them to good will at least 2 a week but never did. Oh well now he have to find something else to complain about ha ha ha. Well not much going on here today. To tired to do anything and everybody seems to be on the grouchy side here (thats always fun) Well hope everybody enjoys the rest of their day.
