Sunday morning

Hey all, it's officially 1:30am so I thought I'd start the Sunday post. I am back at work for my first night. It's gone well and all my coworkers have been so supportive and kind. Darn hospital has given me a cold though. I was here 30 minutes and started sneezing and it's just progressed as the night has gone on. Anyone know if it's ok to take Sudafed? I might take some in the morning when I go home.

Got my samples of Nectar flavors in the mail. I've gotten two rounds in so far and they're not too bad. Hopefully I can start being better about getting my protein in now that I've found something I can tolerate. It amazes everyone at work that it doesn't bother me to watch them sit around and eat. Kind of amazes me too. I guess since I'm not hungry, I don't worry about it.

I was so excited to be able to eat a few pieces of fruit for the first time at the clothing exchange. Everything passed through my pouch beautifully and I can't wait to stop at the store in the morning to get a little more fruit. Amazing what that dilation did for me!   I'm trying to figure out what I'm going to do about eating on nights that I work. Anyone who works night shift just a couple of nights a week have any hints? I will sleep a lot tomorrow, so I thought I'd get one or two meals in before I head home in the morning and then only have to worry about getting a meal in tomorrow. I'm also pushing the fluids tonight so that they count for the entire day. I'll take all the suggestions I can get!

Have a great Sunday everyone!

Good morning, I think! I slept restlessly so not much rest. This burn from the tanning bed is really sore tonight and my mom says it looks like it's blistered in one spot on my hip (feels swollen but I can't say it's blistered cause I can't see it).

I'm so exhausted though so I'm headed back to bed for a couple hours til church! TTYL.

Melissa...I am a 12 hour night nurse 2 nights a week. My Dr told me on the first night I start my 12 hour shifts, that since I probably already ate lunch and breakfast that day to eat 2 more small protein packed meals during late evening and during night, she said this keeps your metabolism up during work shift. When I first went back I had bought 2 oz containers at gordons food service with lids and took yogurt ,cottage cheese, sf pudding etc and sipped on protein drink during shift. Hey with our little 2oz foods I teased the other staff , not to try and steal my yummy food. Even if your pt. load is busy I had time to eat 2 oz when I charted.....GOOD LUCK....DEB

Hi everyone!

I'm sitting here sipping my hot Click and getting my OH fix before I work on my transcription. Then it's off to pick my mom up for church, do some grocery shopping, and come back home to work some more. Seems like that's all I do! I'll be glad when they get another postmaster for my office so I can go back to my part-time hours.

I had a dumping episode last night...my own fault, of course. I ate about five miniature chocolate covered pretzels, and knew very quickly that was a mistake! Nausea, heart racing, hot flashes, YUK! I'm glad it happens because it keeps me honest, but MAN I hate it. What an awful feeling.

Better get with it, hope everyone has a terrific day!

Good morning all!

I am up and getting ready for church.  I am still bouncy happy about meeting everyone yesterday.  I can't stop smiling!  It was like Christmas for me.   My sister surprised me and called at the end of her overnight shift and said she wanted to come along.  I was so happy to have her with us and it was awesome to get to share all of you with her.  I was also glad that Kim was feeling well enough to come along so you could all see her.  She is a wonderful person.  God has blessed me with a great friend.

I am looking forward to this week.  Marc is on vacation all week and it will be fun to spend some time with him and doing some house projects we have been wanting to get done.

I start a class tonight at church that is called "When God's people pray"  It's a class about the power of prayer and the way to pray, and how to improve a person's prayer life.  I am looking so forward to it.

I hope you all have a terrific Sunday and Attend the church of your choice!

Huge hugs,
Tracy

Melissa,... watch out for those protein levels! I got pretty low right after surgery, since I had a hard time finding something I could tolerate. As a result, I got pretty thin hair and was very tired. I worked with the dieticians and got everything back to normal, but if you can prevent it,...

Maggie got me up at 8:30am. I walked the dog, fed the dog, fed the cats, fed Maggie, and now I'm playing! I have to go to work from 11:45-6:15, but for right now, I can relax.

For the new year, I got signed back up with my former personal trainer. Went to work with her yesterday for weight lifting. I went last week too. It had been a year since I'd seen her though. I figured after I called, she was probably wondering if I'd gained back or not. She seems pretty proud of me for how well I've done. I give her alot of credit for helping to guide me on the fitness side. I wish I could go more than once a week, but I can't afford that. The weight lifting feels good though. I could tell I needed to go back, because I have been noticing I've been slouching more lately, and my back has been hurting more. I was afraid I was losing some of the muscle I'd built up.

Good morning to all,

I thought I would post while I am having my first cup of coffee, and before I start working on my final  weeks of this class, once I complete these assignments then I will be done with my bacholars, finishing up right before I start my Human Service Certificiate.

I am still tried, I did not get home until 10pm last night from Indy, after a visit with my sister and doing some grocery shopping (Krogers) wish we had one closer to us.   I love seeing everyone yesterday and I really needed it.

I am so glad  that I was able to meet Tracy and Kim, I may need the 2 of you to keep me on track.

Melissa, keep pushing those liquids and proteins, I will post again real soon, Dan from Kokomo posted it a few years ago, it is called the Smoothie Bible it was my lifesaver on getting my protein shakes.  I had trouble finding anything that I could tolerate.. Gnc protein powder was the only ones I could do, the banana was my favorite, but I had a hard time just doing a shake.  I took these recipes and do a fruit smoothie everyday.

I am off of here for now, my get back on later when I need a break from homework.  Talk to everyone soon.
