Hey everyone, I wasn't going to bring food to the pitch in because I thought I'd be arriving late. But I've had to reschedule my son's birthday party because he is sick and I need to come up with something to bring. I have no idea where to start because I'm not really eating much yet. Does anyone have any suggestions or a recipe?

Thanks,
Melissa

Hi Melissa,

Sorry to hear that your son is sick!

As far as a recipe or suggestions-

jello, s/f pudding, cottage cheese, deviled eggs, tuna salad, egg sald, pepperoni chips, baked cheese crisps- ARE you still in the soft stage?

I loved to make fluff when I was early post op

1 container cottage cheese
1 container cool whip lite
1 box s/f jello mix only- any flavor- I loved cherry or orange

mix well all ingredients! After you are allowed fruit, I added pineapple tidbits, and/or mandarin oranges!
fruit trays, relish trays, meat trays, etc! I hope this helps!

See ya tomorrow! Hugz Dawn

I need help with what food to bring too.  I'm NOT a cook, so something I could pick up at the grocery,  what about drinks?  Should someone bring something like that, and if so, what?  Other suggestions please.

Thank You,

Jenn

Dawn gave some really good suggestions....I was thinking of mentioning fruit or veggies but she already beat me to it!  The only other thing I could think of is maybe cheese and whole wheat crackers???

Sorry I wasn't more help...my brain is fried!  I need to go to bed...

You can check my profile for recipe ideas. As to drinks, we all basically drink water and Vicki brings that each time. I would say though for you to bring something you can enjoy as well...so cottage cheese maybe.
