A wow... NSV..
Jenny,
I sent you a message off-line. I think we are going to have to just agree to disagree on the topic of caffiene. All I can say to you or to anyone else is ASK YOUR SURGEON. It would be very irresponsible of me to not say anything though when I know from personal experience (as well as from my surgeon & nut telling me) that caffiene can be detrimental to your health. Rather if you want to ask your own surgeon is totally up to you but I sincerely hope that there are no newbie's out there that try the Click because 'Jenny said it's good' and wind up in the hospital from dehydration or a bleeding ulcer. And if you drink 2-3 protein drinks per day as newbies are usually instructed to do, that is not a 'moderate' amount of caffeine when it is 4-6 cups of expresso worth. You are just a newbie yourself and I think you are very fortunate that you haven't had any complications so far. I hope that others do not take the risks you have. Some people, such as myself, have been plagued with complications even though we have tried to do everything the surgeon/nut have told us to do. So yes, I do think it is a wonder that you haven't had problems ...but...you are still new enough in your journey for the problems to not have showed up yet.
And no...tanning beds have nothing to do with WLS. I never said they did. They also have nothing to do with many of our surgeons telling us to avoid caffiene like it's a plague. Most people who meet me are surprised to learn that I am close to 50 years old. They usually think I'm a good ten years YOUNGER. I have a much greater issue with dry skin now (because of my intestinal issues) than I did when my intestines were fine and I was tanning every day. I do know some people whose skin does look like leather...but they are ones who lay out in the sun (not tanning bed) constantly durring the summer and wouldn't know what a bottle of moisturizer looked like if it bit them. Even my plastic surgeon has commented on how good my skin looks...and did when I went in for my consult and was tanning every day. But...I never tanned for how how it made my skin look. I tanned for how good it made my mind feel. I really did do it for my mental health. I have a stressul job. I also have a stressful life. If you've followed my posts at all, you would realize that. Tanning gives me what I use to get from smoking...but in a much healthier way. It gives me 20 minutes to clear my mind and spend the time on me and me alone.
As I told you in my offline message to you, I really am not trying to pick on you. I say something because I do sincerely care about the people on this board. Those who know me would tell you that I am being 100% honest with you about that.

I answered your message. I was kidding around with you, for heaven's sake!
That having been said, I have never instructed anyone to replace their protein shakes with Click. As I've said many times, I have it for breakfast. I've only had it more than that once or twice, when I was very low on protein. But...I know there are better sources of protein and I usually go for something else.
Yes, I think you over-react to every post on Click or caffeine...but your opinion is your opinion and you have every right to it. You don't need to defend your motivation to me. Believe me, I participate in political forums and what you're doing is not even close to "picking on me."
FWIW...of course I have checked with my surgeon and nutritionist, give me a little credit! They have no problem with my having Click once per day. I've lost weight steadily while drinking it; it has a lot of vitamins, minerals, and protein and keeps me satisfied all morning.
My goodness, the tanning bed comments were not intended to be taken personally! Sure, I know people whose skin looks like leather because they practically live in the things, but if you want to use them, go for it! I'm not trying to talk you out of it.
Apparently I need to get to know everyone a bit better before saying anything tongue in cheek!
