A wow... NSV..
I miss tanning!!!!
For our two year anniversary, Bill bought us a tanning bed. It is a really big one. We got it when I was ~350 lbs so I didn't want to feel like I was in a coffin. Anyway, I use to tan every day....pre-plastics. The last time I tanned was the day before my plastics (9/24/07). I was told ahead of time that I'd need to not tan for a year to help minimize how much my scars stood out. Well..with the open wounds in my belly, I'm STILL waiting! Bill suggested that I could tan since I keep those covered up anyway. I just might try it with this new swimming suit I got last year. It has a strip of material that connects the top to the bottom going down the center of my stomach. I got it because it'll cover the scar from my intestine & hernia surgeries. I would think that between it & the gauzes though that my wounds should be protected enough. So...I just may give it a try tomorrow!
My last bloodwork showed my vitamin D to be a little bit low too so... I'd be doing it for 'health reasons'. LOL! Who am I kidding?!?!? I'd be doing it because I find it so darn relaxing! I always felt better starting my day with that wonderful 20 minutes snooze! It did alot to help my mental health. As much stressful things that has happened as of late, I think it may be just what I need!
Thank you Misty for starting this thread. I think we all tend to forget how much we need light during the winter months. When I went in to work at 6, I'd get up at 4 and head straight to the tanning bed for my additional 20. Now, with going in at 5, I get up at 3:30...guess I'll change that to 3! LOL! I think I'll only do 10 minutes at first until my bod gets reuse to it (Mommy Lisa...I would start off at 3 minutes if I had skin as fair as yours!!).

I hate to rain on your excitement...but you tried to rain on MINE with the Click, so...
Seriously, everyone I know who uses a tanning bed regularly has skin that looks like leather. Those things are awful for your skin! I hope you guys take it easy with those things.
Now, you can pay as much attention to this warning as I did to the caffeine warning...

Yeah but..my doctor never told me not to use a tanning bed (with the exception of as I mentioned above) where as all of our surgeons HAVE told us to avoid caffiene...but really, totally up to you. Get an ulcer or don't get an ulcer...get dehydrated or don't get dehydrated. No pain for me...I'm not the one gambling my health on it.

Wow, it's a wonder I'm still alive!
Of course my doctor never told me not to use a tanning bed, it has nothing to do with WLS! He also didn't tell me I couldn't have caffeine. Like everything else, moderation is the key.
