Here is my three month update... I started out at 295 pounds.  BMI of 47.6
The handsome guy is my son Dylan.

I am now down to 223 pounds.  BMI of 35.9  just obese now.. not morbidly so wooohooo!  I have lost 5.5 inches off my chest.  8.5 inches off my waist.  And 10 inches off my hips!!!!  I have gone from wearing (a tight) 24 to an 18 that is getting loose!!
How cool is that?
My A1C blood sugar before surgery was 9.4. Now it is 6.2!!!!  Normal!!!!  I was taking 240 units of insulin a day!!!! And 2 pills orally a day to try and keep my bs down.  That wasn't even working. I would wake to a blood sugar of 280+ most days.  Now its 82 when I wake up!!  I have not had a drop of insulin since the day before my RNY!!! No pills either!  My blood pressure is down. I am off that medicine.  My cholesteral is down and off that medicine too.  I am able to walk on a treadmill for 2-3 miles and feel great while doing it!!  My life is so much better now.  This surgery has changed my life.  Thank you Dr. Cooper, Cathy Hildebrand, NP  and Schneck Bariatrics!!!
I know there are still some rolls here to get rid of. But I am working on it!!!  And I know I will succeed!!
Blessings to you all, Leah

Leah I am so happy for you.  WOW.  You give me something to look forward to .  I am still waiting for the weight loss to start...wish that hospital gain would go away, it almost is down to what I started but I am getting all these people asking how much I have lost and I just say I haven't weighed cause I don't want to tell them I am still on the plus side of my pre op weight.

My blood sugar and diabetes are completely in control without meds too.  Isn's it great????

WOW!!! How awesome is that. I know what you mean about all the changes right away after the surgery. :) I had great improvements in my health immediately and no medications since the day before surgery for me also. I am sure it won't be long and you will have a "normal" weight and BMI. I wish I would have taken my measurements like you did. I know I lost alot in inches but would have liked to know the exact amount so far. You are doing wesome. Keep up the GREAT work! :)
