Girls,

The place in Castleton called the Cutting Edge has some protein that is 56 grams mixed with 8 oz of liquid.  I didn't find it until AFTER I was through with my protein drinks or I would be able to tell you how it takes.  I'm thinking they had 8 flavors and they were in bottles with room to mix liquid, and they were like $2.95 each.  They also had some bigger containers if you have a favorite.

Hope this will help someone

Hey everyone. I ended up emailing an address I found on a message board from like 4 years ago and heard back from the guy already. He's willing to send me 3 1/2 serving samples for free, or they are offering a huge discount on 11 full size servings of all their flavors, basically you get all 11 flavors for 9.99 total (including s&h). Since I just ordered the vita lady samples, thought I'd just take him up on the 3 1/2 servings for free. But if anyone's interested, I can share his email address.

I ordered every nectar sample that they had from Vitalady.  I've been getting tired of the other shakes.  I've only tried Twisted Cherry and Green Apple so far.  I liked the cherry alot!  I can do without the Apple though.  I think I will try the lemonade one next when I get home from work!

Let me know what you think of those, ok?    I have a real hard time with the milk based ones, so Nectar is a likely choice for me.

I was able to get the New Whey Protein bullets down before, just by putting them over ice and filling the glass with water.  I am going to get more of those tonight and mix them with Crystal Light as it takes fewer doses to get my daily requirement in.

I feel sluggish, and I know it's because I'm not consuming enough protein.

The protein bullets should only be used as a last resort, or not at all would be better yet.  They are NOT whey isolate which is a good quality protein.  They are a junk protein that my nutritionst says no to, so you might want to ask your nut about these first.

Hey Melissa,

I love the Fuzzy Navel.  I like it with Peach Tea Crystal light too...but I have to cut back on the amount of CL I use, as it's too sweet for me now.  I'm anxious to hear how the other flavors taste, as the shake flavors don't set well with me either.

I will take a scoop of Nectar and add it to about 4-6 oz of water in a small shaker I have and down it before I head off to work.  It helps me get a reasonable start on my protein and 4-6 oz doesn't dilute it too bad.

I bought my canister at the Vitamin Shoppe across from Greenwood Mall.  They have a pretty decent variety.

Bob's stuff at Cutting Edge is the Sci Fit Whey Isolate (56gm per serving).  It comes in a large canister and in the bottles that Frankie mentioned.  My DH is a weight lifter and we've had that in the house for years...The chocolate is not bad at all...but I don't care for some of the ice cream flavors.

Sci Fit is a good quality protein...

I was actually refering to the protein bullets that are junk proteins.
However, you made me curious about the Sci Fit Whey Isolate having 56 grams of protein per serving so I did a lil reasearch and this is what I found....

The label reads a serving is two scoops so basically any good quality whey protien will give you 56 grams of protein if you use two scoops. When you said it was a good quality protein you were right, it is but its not a miracle protein with 56 grams a scoop.  It also has 232 calories per 2 scoops, if you are mixing that with 8 or 10 oz of skim milk you have to add another 100 calories . Very early out its not too important to worry about how many calories you are consuming to get your protein supplements in but in the near future as you being to eat more it is relevent.  Just need to make sure that you are watching your labels and comparing apples to apples.

On the bright side of things,  I am five months out and have not used protein drinks for probably  six weeks, I get my protein from food now so protein drinks are temporary in most cases and you also will be getting all your protein from good quality lean protein foods.   There are days when I fall short from skipping meals, on those days I still use a supplement but honestly those days are rare.

I copied the nutrition label from their website:

Oh yeah,

Never used more than 1 scoop of the Sci Fit cuz of the calorie count....and only mixed with water because of that....Hubby always  bought it and it didn't cost me a thing.....so I used it...LOL

And this was long before WLS...I used it as meal replacement or for breakfast.

Only mentioned it was good quality because no one ever mentions SciFit.

I know nothing about the bullets...some people say they taste metallic or make their mouth itch....that alone would keep me away....
