HORRIBLE FLU VIRUS

   SORRY I HAVEN'T BEEN ON THE BOARDS THE PAST 2 DAYS MUCH BUT I HAVE BEEN SO SICK. I FELT LIKE HAVING DH TAKE ME TO THE HOSPITAL, BUT KNEW WE WOULD NEVER MAKE IT A MILE, LET ALONE 10-25MI. IT WOKE ME UP AT MIDNIGHT, & I WAS UP TILL 1 PM. IN THE BATHROOM /BEDROOM.AS SOON AS I'D LAY DOWN I HAD TO LITTERALY RUN TO THE BATHROOM.
   JUST WANTED TO LET YOU KNOW BEWARE OF THE FLU THAT IS OUT THERE. I WAS SO SICK THE PAST EVENING/DAY THAT I COULD HARDLY KEEP FROM LIVING IN THE BATHROOM. I HAD TAKEN MY GF SHOPPING MONDAY, & SHE CALLED TUES. SAYING SHE HAD IT, & HER HUBBY HAD BEEN SICK ON SUNDAY. LETS JUST SAY, I CHANGED PJ'S 5 TIMES & BED LINENS 4 TIMES. I USED 5 IMODUIM AND IT DIDN'T FAZE IT. MY GRANDSON IS SO SICK THAT THEY PUT HIM ON PHENAGRIN. I HAD A FLU SHOT, SO I THOUGHT I WOULDN'T HAVE ANY PROBLEMS THIS YEAR. -NOT!!!! I WAS ONLY ABLE TO DRINK SIPS OF WATER, & FINALLY GOT A SOY PROTIEN SHAKE IN TODAY. THANK GOODNESS FOR CRYSTAL LIGHT- IT HELPED TODAY.I FEEL WEAK AS A NEWBORN KITTEN, BUT HAVEN'T HAD ANY 'MESSES' TODAY, THANK THE LORD!
    EVEN THOUGH I USED ANTIBACTERIAL SOAP & HAND SANATIZER,I GOT IT!!! SO MY FRIENDS, I HOPE THIS DOES'NT HIT YOU OR YOUR HOME. I HAD HOPED TO GO SEE BRENDA SAT. BUT NO WAY WITH THIS. I JUST DON'T WANT TO GIVE IT TO ANYONE!!!!

My pcp was telling me that their is a strain of flu that the shots dont cover.
Unfortunately i think you must have caught it.
Just keep yourself hydrated and rest...

I just listened to your voicemail. Today has been one hectic day. I'll be home all day tomorrow so give me a call whenever you feel up to talking...k? I probably won't have my cell phone on me so call the house #.

Keep fluids in you as much as you can sweetie. With colds, flu,and respritory infections going around, it has had me really concerned when I hear about how many people went to see Brenda. Alot of this stuff, you don't know you have it until it knocks you flat. Even with me, I thought my symptoms were just side effects of having that darn tube down my nose & throat but when we went and saw Brenda last night, I didn't get too close & didn't hug her this time...just in case. A few hours after we left her was when it started to actually feel like a head cold instead so I'm glad I took precautions!

Oh Ellen I am so sorry that you have the flu.  Sounds like you got the worst of it too!  Bless your heart.  Hope that you are feeling better soon. And your grandson too!  Know that I am thinking of you and yours. 

Dear Ellen - hope you get to feeling better quickly!

I can't believe that they did it again!  Last year I got a flu shot, and got seriously sick.  I went to urgent care, and they were packed!  We all the flu, and most of us had also had the flu shot - they didn't cover the one strain that was going around.  Sounds like the same thing again this year!!

Get plenty of fluids, and cuddle up on the sofa with a warm blanket and your favorite movie and take care of yourself!

Thanks everyone for you prayers & loving thoughts. I just needed to warn/vent that day, I guess. I am feeling somewhat better, just a lingering headache & fear of eating- "what if ".
Christie, you are so right. When at the Drs. they told Nick that the shot we got wasn't for this kind- huh?WHY BOTHER??!!
This flu strain has really kicked the heck out of me, & now Dana has it. He was up all night,too. Plus, grandson is so weak he wasn't able to get up the stairs to his room last night. Both he & DH ended up on the couch. Some way to get the bed all to myself, not! Hopefully by tomorrow we all will feel better. I had to cancel several activities for this weekend we had planned(going to see Brenda, surprise our kids with supper,church social,etc. ). Oh, well, not so important anyway. Besides ,with all Brenda &Floyd, &Sherri &Bill are going through, I have little to complain about. My heart & thoughts are with them all.
