Hey ya'll the biggest loser is starting a new season tonight and one of the guys on the show had RNY a few years back.  I am looking forward to seeing the show.  But how scary is it that he had RNY and is now bigger than ever!  I consider it as "scared straight" lifestyles of the RNYer.  LOL  I never want to get back to where I came from.

If any of you watch it, let me know what you think of the show.

huge hugs,
Tracy

The show DIETTRIBE has a RNY'er on it also. She weighed 298 when she had it three years ago. She admits she never changed her eating habits and weighed in at the pilot episode last night at 292. I think I might get addicted to this show.

Anyone watch RUBY?

My heart goes out to her. I'm so glad she lets her guard down and shows emotionally what it's like to be obese and try to loose weight the traditional way.

I'm also addicted to BL... lol

Tracy I was in the other room and heard them say it.  What team was it? I missed that part and then DH changed the channel and I couldn't back it up.

Omg  I love Ruby!!!  I wish she could have surgury...Oh Well.  Sunday morning I did not go to church and I have been waking at around 4am.  So I saw that Ruby was on. AFter 5 min.,  I started crying and cryed over anything the rest of the day.  My husband said, "no more Ruby".  I totally understand her and her issues--I guess  I was being sad for her and myself at the same time.  She has wonderful friends...isn't that just like our god to send friends when family lets you down??
Have you heard if she will be on next season????  I wonder how she is doing.......

He is Ron, on the brown team.  The doc just said that these surgeries are not fool proof and the answer.  The scary part about all this for me is that they keep talking about the liver problems of obesity.  My mother died from a form of liver cancer that was caused by obesity.  My liver was 3% enlarged  when I went to my PCP last February.  W0W  it really hits home.

I have to argue with the doc though.  It can be the answer if you work it right.  WE on this board are proof of it.

I love this show!!!!  These people are sooo much like me!  If I see them doing it... I know I can too.

Let me know what you all think of it!

I watched the show, and the one mother daughter team with dark hair, the mother had scars like that of someone who had lap band, I don't know if you get those same scars from other surgeries but she looked like she had the same scars as I do. She went home and her daughter stayed.

I hope Ron does great on the show, think how hard it would be to go on national TV and tell everyone that you had wls, and then gained your weight back and now are on a weight loss show, how awful for him, I will root for him!

Goes to show we all need to work the plan.  We all need 2 hours of exercise a day.  Make time.  I know many people that have had the surgery that look like they never did.  I am on another board that deals with BBQ and 1 person on there after 4 years is back to his heaviest.
Ron's MRI even showed his small pouch.  We can eat AROUND the pouch.  We can put in a lot of calories every 2 hours over a 24 hour day.

Keep at it for a lifetime................
You that are younger have a long time to be healthy because of the surgery............
I weep when I think of the people that I have seen at support groups that I never see again once they have had the surgery.  The very few that still attend are on the PLAN and doing what needs to be done.

For you newbies look around the room at your support group meetings and realize that 90% you will never see again once they have surgery.  I wonder how well they are doing.....

For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him. Herein thou has done foolishly: therefore from henceforth thou shalt have wars.
