Brenda Update

Sorry I didn't get an update to everyone yesterday.  I spent all day at the hospital and had to come home to make phone calls and get some laundry done.  It's pretty darn exhausting watching someone sleep.  LOL  Not to mention that I was up to midnight Saturday night baking cookies because Brenda had volunteered to provide refreshments for church yesterday.

I just got back from the hospital and the doctor hasn't come in yet so she's still in ICU, but her nurse said they are planning on moving her sometime today.  Anyone planning on visiting her should probably just ask at the desk in the lobby what her room number is.  If they tell you 2714, that's the ICU Room Number.  Brenda did tell me that they gave her blood this morning.  The doctor told me yesterday that her white count was low but they hadn't given her blood, but would when she needed it.  Guess that was this morning.  I had to come back to work because I have a report that is due today.  I'll work on it until about 4, go home and change clothes and go to the hospital for afew hours and then come back to work.  I can see a very long day for me.

Yesterday at church, the pastor asked me to inform the congregation about Brenda during the time of prayer.  After I explained everything, he asked me to stay up there and he invited the entire congregation up there to surround me (some touching my shoulder) while he prayed for her.  After the service, lots of people offered to help in anyway they could.  We've only been going to this church since September and they have really made us feel so welcome.  It is definately a loving, caring church family.

Our pastor visited her last night and told me something very amazing.  One of the ladies at church had something tell her to pray for a woman with intestinal problems.  She didn't know who, but then when she heard about Brenda she was amazed.

Brenda had some visitors last night and she was awake for most of their visit.  She kinda floats in and out depending on when they give her pain medication.  I know she'll appreciate seeing anyone even if she's not able to stay awake for the entire visit.

I want to thank everyone for their prayers and concern for Brenda.  We appreciate everyone of you.

Floyd,

I am so glad you have found a great church family, that has always been important to me.  Our church families will support us and care when our blood families don't always.  Isn't God amazing.

I will stop in and see Brenda after work, will probably see you there.  If I can do anything for you or Brenda just let me know.

Floyd,
I am so glad you were able to get on for a little while & update Brenda's condition.. I thought you'd be wore out from baking!!! i bet they all appreciated you going the extra mile, for them. I am so glad you have found a wonderful church "home"~God is amazing, isn't He!!! My heart was touched when I read about someone being prompted by the Holy Spirit to pray- that shows a chruch following the Word. I agree with others- they are our chosen "family" just like here-to love & support us.
I will try to get down on Saturday to see Brenda- I'm sure she'll be ready for a few laps by then. I know how easily tired you can get right after surgery. Please let her know Dana & I are praying for you both. I bet CJ will be glad when "Mommy" gets home!!! He'll need lots of pets, & treats.
Love to you both,
Ellen & Dana

Floyd,
I have been keeping you both in my prayers and thoughts for since I heard about Brenda.  I am so glad to read and hear that she is up to company and sounds like she is improving.  Please know that I am holding you both up to the God and trusting him to keep you both in his caring arms.  I have faith that he will take good care of you both.

It sounds like you are running ragged.  Please be careful and try not to overdo it.  I hope to hear that Brenda is home soon to see CJ.  I know that C****issing his mom and would love to give her some TLC too!

Take good care of yourself and know that I am thinking of you both.  If there is anything I can do to help, please let me know.  I will continue to keep you and your loved ones in my prayers and thoughts.

May God Bless and Keep you safe while you are driving in the winter roads, and traveling to and from work and or the hospital.  Rest and know that God is always on your side.  I am so glad that  you have a church family to lean on.  What a good feeling to know that there is someone out there.  God Bless and Keep you!
