question regarding the clothing exchange
Should we only be bringing clothing that is for this season and hanging on to other stuff for later exchanges?
Will there be any call for size 24 and 22? I just wondered because I know I won't be able to wear these sizes in the spring and summer, plus I also have some Christmas stuff, like sweaters, etc.
Sorry, but I just wanted to know so I don't waste time dragging in stuff that people won't/can't use because of the size or wrong season. I have several items of professional clothing worn only once, or not worn at all and still bearing the original price tags, that are now too large!

Christie,
I am by no means the expert on clothing exchanges since I've only been to 2 of them, but I know there will definitely be a need for size 22/24. I would also say that it would be fine to go ahead and bring stuff that is out of season. Many people (newbies especially) shop for sizes smaller than they need right now because they will be rapidly shrinking and will need smaller sizes before the next exchange.
Just my two cents,
Melissa

Christie,
The only stipulation that we put on clothes is that they not be ripped or stained. ALL sizes are needed & appreciated! As was said, whatever clothes do not find a home with the OH people are donated to Robin's church (where we have the exchanges at). They have days when those less fortunate can come in & 'shop' (for free, of course). They also have a food pantry so if you bought too much pumpkin, yams, or other non-perishable items, please feel free to bring them as well.

If it is useable, in good condition any season is good to bring. Personally, If I find something for summer I just get it and save it.. I havent changed sizes in 2 years. I rotate my clothes at the exchanges...so I have a new wardrobe every exchange.
I also decided to bring a few can goods for the food pantry last time as a thank you to the church for allowing us to spend the day in their church rent free, My church has a month every year that we supply our town food pantry with enough food to feed several families.. There are always those who need the help they can get from a local church. Heck during some of my husbands spinal surgeries over the years I have had to visit from time to time to pick up some free needed items... I believe in giving back.
I have to work that day so I wont be able to stay long this time...

I would bring everything you don't want. Someone will want it or need it. I usually donate $ to the pantry via Robin cause I feel that way they can buy what they need. Don't forget shoes/belts/bras/swimsuits.....everything you can't wear. Is this your first? see ya there.
