Milk

So, I'm trying to drink more milk in an effort to get some protein in because I can't stomach the protein shakes. Problem is that it makes me feel so full. Is this normal?

All liquids make me feel full, especially milk or sf hot chocolate made with milk. You can add a lil powdered milk to your reg 1% milk for some added protein.  Have you tried carnation instant breakast warmed?

Milk has only eight  grams of protein per cup so you would have to drink almost  8 cups a day to get your required protein, that adds up to 800 calories in liquids.  This is why our nuts suggest the whey protien shakes.  I know it hard especially at first, they made me throw up at first.  You just have to keep trying different things until you find one that works.  If your having a really hard time maybe you can reach out to all of us and have us bring you some samples to the clothing exchange.  What protiens have you tried so far?

I've tried the bariatric advantage and the Unjury. I'd be open to trying anything.

Melissa, if you like peaches, I'll be glad to bring you Nectar fuzzy navel flavor.  I couldn't handle it, but it is supposed to be good with extra water and Crystal Light peach tea added.  Maybe a fruit flavored one would work for you?

I also have chocolate Body Fortress.  Turns out I prefer Vanilla Body Fortress.  If you want, I can give you those at the support group meeting next week.  If they don't work for you, pay it forward and maybe someone else can use 'em.

Can you have caffeine yet? I wasn't really limited, but I don't know what your surgeon says. If you can, try Click! It really is delicious...I make it with milk and heat it up in the microwave.

Do you eat yougurt? I love Kroger Carb Master vanilla. It has 12 grams of protien. I add some protien pwder and some dry SK Kool Aid. I love the orange. It tastes just like a creamscicle. Experiment with the different SF Kool Aids or add SF pudding. They are awesome! I also like blending those combos with ice to make a Blizzard type drink.

I can't tolerate milk or any of the protein shake mixtures.  I drink the Isopure zero carb.  I understand there are some powder Isopure's but I buy the ready to drink.  There are several flavors, so experiment till you find something you either like or don't mind.  I prefer the Pineapple Orange Banana.
Good Luck,
Bev
