Hi All!!!
Teanonna,
Glad to hear you are doing well. With you having 200 lbs to lose yet, I wouldn't think that slow down should be too immediate. It is fun though when you see it drop so much with each weighing, huh? I had tracked mine on Excel and got a thrill out of watching that line go down! LOL!
Why are you on the vacuum pump? I was on one after my intestines were blocked (10/07). It is a royal pain in the butt. Are you sleeping with ear plugs? That was the only way I could sleep through it's grrrr... At least the portable one made it to where I wasn't stuck in one spot.
Are you hanging on to your extra supplies from your changes? The black, dry foam, the grandkids loved playing with...it does great for fingerpainting! The extra tape, I saved...and that is what I am the most happiest that I held on to! Because of the distension issues I have, I still have two openings in my stomach (have had them since March 08). I'm still doing two wet gauze changes on them each day...and I'm still keeping them water-free. I use some of that tape to cover them so I can take sitz baths &/or showers. It does a good job at protecting them. I only use antibacterial body wash but I'm sure even without the perfumes in it, the soap would still burn those open wounds. I don't have much of it left...good thing they are close to coming up with a resolution, huh? The visiting nurses said that they'd love to have the unopened supplies because sometimes they have patients who runs out of what they need. I was going to give it to them but they never came bye for them. I finally threw them away. (The company wouldn't accept any 'boxes' that had been opened even if there was 10 unopened packages in it.).
I hope you get off the wound-vac soon!

I am on the pump because I got infection in my incision when I had the surgery. I had to be reopened. Two weeks after surgery. That was November 18th,Dr. Cacucci did it in her office. No numbing. It was rough. But we learn to endure. It could have been worse I guess. I am healing good now. Maybe another few weeks on. Take care.

Teanonna, It i great to hear from you! Enjoy the honeymoon phase it's pretty awesome. You probably won't slow down too much for at least another 4 months or so. Aside from the regular stalls, It's pretty cool to see the weight drop.
Take care and I hope you will post more often. Happy New Year 2009
Huge Hugs,
Tracy
