Many Thanks!!

Hello to all!

Many thanks to Gail, Cindy and my IN OH Family for the beautiful arrangement and sympathy cards, notes and many prayers!

This week has been a whirlwind of visitors, flowers, family, cars and phonecalls and I haven't had much time to think let-alone go online. but I have been thinking of you all and do appreciate all the lovely e-mails and notes I have received.

I will be going to MA for Peter's memorial service there this weekend, then returning home on Monday. After that I will continue to take it one-day-at-a-time as a  young widow (seems hard to believe) as I find my niche in operating this business. I know this won't really hit me untill March when we begin to prepare to open the camp for the 2009 season, I keep thinking he will just walk in the door at any moment.

Anyway, many thanks, and I hope to stop by and see you all on the board more often!!

Dear Little Sister,
 My heart & prayers are with you. I know how hard this prolonged time of grief has been for you, since I took my Dad to Texas for his burial. The reality doesn't set in till you are home and back to the daily routine. I know the best thing I did was take it a day at a time. (I think I slept for a week.) If you want to rest, do nothing, sleep, read, cry, play, journal, escape, DO- take whatever time you need to heal & restore.Like Sherri, I am here for you,too. You have my cell number- if you need help now, or  in March, let us know,we'll see if  Dana & I can do a road trip!!!!

I just read about Peter and I am so sorry for your loss.
I know we have never met, but I wanted to let you know you are in my prayers.
I dont get on the board as much as I used to since I started a new job, so I dont find these things out right away.

Hi Hope,

I just wanted to let you know that I'm keeping you in my thoughts.  I'm with Sherri, if you should happen to come into town, I'd love to see you again. 

I also wanted to tell you that you made quite an impression on my daughter.  She saw your picture while I was reading your post and asked me "Is that the lady from Middlebury?  I saw her picture and thought 'Hope'!".  Since she is only 7, she must have really liked you to remember you so well!

I look forward to seeing you again soon.  My mother-in-law and I are planning a trip to Shipshiwana in the spring, so if not sooner, I'll be sure to touch base with you then.

Although we have never met I have heard so much about you and Peter.  I am so sorry for your loss.  I pray for God's peace in  your heart as you go through the grieving process for your precious husband. 

As has been said before, take it one day at a time.  Each of us grieves in our own way.  My husband passed away three years ago after only five weeks of an illness.  It was unexpected and didn't fully register for a while.   I found comfort in going through his things.  We have a bookcase headboard and I left it exactly as he did until I moved.  I also left the things on his bedside table there as he left it until I had to pack them up.  I still miss him but as our Pastor said at his funeral, he wouldn't come back now and leave the presence of God even if he could.

You need to take the time you need to grieve in whatever way is best for you.  If it takes weeks, months, or even years.  You are the only one who can decide.  I pray for strength for you to carry on and know that God is there for you to lean on, and you have many friends to call on whenever you need us.
