Silly question - I'm being silly
I have been weighing myself every day. I know it's not good, but I want the visual feedback. Plus, when I get to goal, I want to be sure I don't ever do this to myself again.
Now I've been going down steadily. But this morning, I gained .4 pounds. I know it is less than half a pound. However, is this normal? I have not strayed from the St. V yellow sheets at all. I began adding the protein drinks in. I am only eating what is on our list and drinking water and Crystal Light. And I GAIN weight on 2 ounces of food per meal???
Ok - needed to vent. Probably just some water retention, but geez! Anyone else have this happen?

Its totally normal. I weigh myself twice a day. Morning and night and they can be punds apart. For exsample I weighted in yesterday morning at 145.00 then last night before I went to be I weighed 147.3.
If you are going to weight everyday just be sure your time of day is consistant as your weight will change over the course of the day.

Christie,
I weigh myself every day (once per day only) but I use it to know what my range is. Different things can make your weight fluxuate. Did you go potty first? Did you drink anything before weighing? How well did you sleep last night (I have 'gained' 6 pound in 1 day just from not sleeping well!!)?
If you are going to weigh yourself daily, use it as a tool to understand your body...not as one to cause you to get frustrated with it.

Sherri - I pottied first, plucked my eyebrows, shaved my pits and legs, and even clipped my toenails first! (just kidding)
I did have trouble sleeping last night. The one large incision on the left side is still a little tender at times, and my side around to my back aches some. That's probably what it is. Plus my body may be hanging on to a little bit of fluid as I was starting to dehydrate Sunday, and I really began pushing fluids.
You're right - I will use the weigh ins as a tool to understand and check to see where I am.
Thanks!

Hi Chris,
I'm sure you're doing fine, as our bodies fluctuate daily. You're sticking to the St. V's plan and that's the important thing here. In high school my husband played football and he has told me his weight would vary as much as 20 pounds from day to day because of how hard they ran/fluid intake. So keep drinking, sweetie! You're on the right track!

Chris,
I weigh every AM after I've been up and around for a few minutes...I never weigh at night because of all the fluids during the day.
I've already stalled...and in the process gained 2 lbs..I'm back on the way down now with those 2 lbs gone as well. I stalled after drinking the 2oz of grape juice per day for 3 days to break the ketosis as suggested by my dietitian. HMMMM. She stated food and drink would taste better and that I'd still continue losing despite breaking the ketosis...It didn't make that big a difference in the way things tasted and I gained...I won't go there again....
Apparently, our body will stall to catch up glycogen stores per an article I read on bariatriceating.com.
What scale do you have that measures tenths of lbs??? I want one! Mine is digital, but not that cool...

Michelle, I have a digital Tahita scale. It measures in tenths of pounds and has a large digital readout.
I am being so silly. After losing 31.2 pounds, I'm worrying about gaining less than half a pound? Good grief. It's time for me to get over myself. This weight didn't go on overnight, and it sure won't come off overnight (although at the rate I've been losing, it felt that way!).
I think I am just anxious for people to be able to tell I've lost weight. My husband says he can tell, but he is so well trained, he knows better than to tell me he can't see it yet.
