Vitamins!!! Ick!!! GAG!
So, I have never thought to ask my NUT and don't go back til February. I was just wondering if at some point we get to stop these nasty chewable vitamins and move on to the ones you can swallow??? I have changed my brands a couple times but I am just gaggy when I have to take them and Centrum is starting to make me nauseated. I keep on keeping on because I have to... but please tell me that someday I will not have to take the chewables any longer and can graduate to real vitamins.
What do you guys and girls that are years out take?
Thanks, Tracy

To be completely honest, I think I've taken 2 vitamins since surgery. Couldn't stomach the flintsones, so I bought the chewable centrums. But then I got sick and really couldn't stomach anything. I'm going to give it the old college try this week! I am turning over a new leaf. But I hope you're right, who wants to take these nasty old things for the rest of our lives?

After you give it the ole college try this week, if you are still having problems getting your vitamins down, you might want to check with your NUT and see if you are far enough out to swallow regular vitamins. I don't remember how far out I was when I started taking them (I think I was around 5 or 6 weeks though) and at the time I had to cut them in half so I had to take 6 halves a day.
I remember while I was still taking the chewables, the NUT suggested that I chew a vitamin just before each of my meals. That way it helps get the vitamin taste out of your mouth when you eat your food, and it's a good way to remember your vitamins if you always chew one before a meal.

The NUT gave me the okay a long time ago to switch to the ones you swallow. I bought the adult centrum and you still have to take 3 of them daily. At first they told me to cut them in half (so you have to take 6 halves throughout the day) but when I went for my 6 month follow up a couple weeks ago they told me it was okay to swallow them whole now.
So, my suggestion is to check with your NUT to be sure but I can't imagine them not giving you the go ahead.
