Back from the movies....

Went to see Twilight - it is so awesome - I loved it about as much as I did the book!!

Hubby got popcorn and a diet coke.  I go****er and had a string cheese stick and a bottle of crystal light in my purse.

His popcorn didn't even smell good to me!  That was great!  It was time for lunch, so I nibbled about a third of the string cheese, then ate another ounce of food when we got home.  I did well.  The only thing I REALLY wanted was some diet coke.....

You know, I am craving diet coke so bad.  I bet when I can have a little, it won't even taste good.  I'll look at myself and think "is that what I drove myself nuts over?"

My husband always stops at Speedway and gets a huge coke and comes dragging it in after work.  There have been times I have forbid him to come in the door with it lol.  Other days I don't even think about it.  It does get better though, most days the thought of a diet coke doesn't even cross my mind and I was also a huge diet coke drinker.  Walmart sales a box of diet popsicles that are sunkist orange A&W root beer, and diet Dr Pepper, thats a pretty good substitue if ya like that sort of thing.

I am so glad that you had a good time.  And that the popcorn smell didn't bother you. Isn't that cool?
I have seen those popsicles Jeannie was talking about.. diet rootbeer/diet sunkist etc.  I may have to try those myself. Thanks for the time Jeannie!
Have a great evening!
Blessings to you all, Leah

Christie,

Over the past few years, I have gotten SO much pop that I have given to my daughter's household that it isn't even funny! I started trying some out after I was ~1 1/2 yr post-op (was told I couldt ry a little after I was +1 yr. Well.. I had tried diet decaf pepsi, diest sprite, and diet root beer...all too sweet & too strong of carbonation...even after letting sit for a little while. I tried sf lemade & cherry lemonade and they just weren't what I wanted at the time. I have no found anything it a can that hits the spot. I was a big diet pepsi fan pre-op so chances are great that by the time you could physically handle some of it, you won't want it .

Congrats on getting through the show without much munching and for keeping it healthy!

High five Christie!  I knew you could do it and be just fine!

You know if you get really desparate for dt.coke you can use the lip gloss at wally world that is coke flavor... I wouldn't use it all the time but it might get you past it.  Probably will gross you out because it's so sweet.   LOL.

I have found smelling things makes me want it less and satisfies my craving.  Weird.. but that's me.  I got a sugar cookie candle and burned it and the house smelled so good and I was content.  I didn't even have to have the cookie.

I am working hard today to get myself back on track better.  I am having issues with dehydration really bad.  Didn't get much fluids yesterday and today only 20 oz. so far.... I have been pushing it tonight tho... i slept most the day because I felt ucky and sick.

Im glad you had a good experience at the movies.  Now you won't be afraid to go next time.

Im proud of you!

Huge hugs, Tracy

Christie, before surgery I drank tons of pop. I gave it up 5 weeks before surgery. I truly do not even miss it! And I'm glad. I was petrified that I would be miserable for it. Glad you enjoyed the movie. I've been wanting to take my son to see a movie and was a bit afraid.
