Anyone had to drink stuff for a CT?

I am scheduled for two tests tomorrow (Friday) morning.  The first is an endoscopy.  I have had one before so I know what to expect.  The second is an abdominal CT, but I have to drink stuff for 2 hours first.  Have any of you had a "drinking CT" and how bad is it? 
Please keep me in your prayers that all goes well and that whatever is going on will show up.

I will keep you in my prayers. I have had many CT's but never had to drink anything.They usually shoot it in my veins.  I bet Sherri could give you some advice. Praying  that the Dr. finds out what is going on & you be well!!!!!! Hopefully i will be at one of the Jan. meetings, & I'll see you there.

I had an abdominal CT scan done 2 weeks ago.  I had to drink some tang flavored stuff.  It really wasn't that bad.  I had to drink a cup prior to the ct and a few swallows during.    It is orange flavored crystal lite with an extra ingredient. 

I had one about a year ago it was like chrystal light with dye in it.. not a problem getting down but had to drink so much it took about 45 minutes.. They even told me the next time I needed one I could bring in a drink of my choice and they would even put the dye in it.

Sorry that you are having problems to where you need to have an endo & ct. I hope they find out what is going on between the two. It's kinda strange that they scheduled both for the same day.

I've had several scans & tests over the past year or so. I've had a couple of different ct scans. One they were checking the intestines and the other they were checking the abdomon/spleen/lungs for blood clots & any other abnormalties. I THINK the intestinal one was the red fruity flavored drink and the other one was a lemonade type of drink. Neither one was bad at all.They do it with crystal light so I didn't have to worry about dumping at all. For the abdominal one, they had given me 2 cups and each was marked ~half-way. I was to drink to that mark every half hour so that in 2 hours it would all be drank. I drink so much normally that I wanted to just go ahead and drink it down! LOL! The taste wasn't bad though. The texture was doable.

Now...if we were talking about one on the many barium based tests I've had this year......
