Guess what?

Our OH couple (Todd--RNY and Lorie--DS both from Indiana) who just had their surgeries last week at the U of C are scheduled to be interviewed live on national news tomorrow morning!

So, please tune (or set TIVO) in at 5:45 a.m. Central Time to the cable Fox News Channel for "Fox and Friends," where Todd and Lorie have been told they will be interviewed via satellite for about 5 minutes about their story. Yes, they are nervous as hell, but they know they are doing good by telling people about WLS and "paying it forward."

They continue to be genuinely amazed that people find their story so interesting. They just think it's the most normal thing to do, go through this type of life-changing experience together, holding hands and praying for the best. I think they are very nice people (not attention *****s) and I am usually a bit of a cynic.

I seriously think they could use some support from our OH family right now.
Their story was picked up by the Associated Press and carried throughout the world, so they have had feedback from all corners of the globe about their choices. Most people have said supportive things, but some people have been seriously out-of-line, saying ratty things like (I am paraphrasing):

"These lazy people should have exercised and dieted, NOT gotten surgery--they took the easy way out!" and "Great message you're sending your kids--get super-fat and make medical science fix your problem."

We all know that these comments are the ignorant ramblings of ignorant people, but it would be nice to remind Lorie and Todd that they have our support as they do what we all did (or are trying to do)--to change and save their lives from the jaws of obesity. So, please take a moment to post a supportive message here or send a PM to "Chickflickstyle" if you can.
