Christmas Eve
Up extra early this morning to get things ready for my DIL's mothers this evening. They do their Christmas on Christmas Eve. Got the stockings stuffed for all the kids, have the seven layer dip ready, got the barbecue in the crock pot to cook today. Think I've done all I need to do, but knowing me there will be something I remember at last minute.
I still can't believe it's Christmas Eve already. When I look back this year has been a blur. So much going on with everyone, illnesses, family matters, good times and bad. But we made it through another year of blessings. I have to stop and count my blessings and thank God for them. I know so many of you have had to bear so many burdens. Some I can't imagine facing, some trials I have gone through and can sympathize with. I look forward to the posts and getting to know you through them. So many of you are founts of wisdom, motivators, and inspirational. There are a few that are just plain crazy and make me laugh. I do cherish all of you and wish you a most joyous Christmas. Even though tonight is when Santa comes, let us not forget that He who came first is the reason we celebrate.
A blessed Christmas filled with peace, joy, love, and laughter to you all.

Merry Christmas, everyone!

I am so excited about today and tomorrow. I am getting things done around here today. I am going to have to make the last minute meal plans and so some food shopping for the basics. I am finishing making some of the gifts for the kids and wrapping the last few things. I can't wait until tomorrow morning to be with all my kids and to read the real Christmas story to them. Celebrating Christ's birth as a family is one of the most special things to me. I sat here last night thinking how I was upset about not being able to get many things for my youngest two for Christmas. But God provided for them. They have several wonder things under the tree that Chaz and Ashley went and got them. Jessi and Brandon showed up with arms full of clothes that they got at Steve and Barry's when it was closing. So we wrapped those up and now my tree is bursting with gifts that i never expected to see this year. God is an awesome God!
I hope all of you have a wonderful Christmas and cherish the time you have this week with your family and friends. Life itself is the best gift we have recieved next to eternal life. So, hug everyone you care about.... tell them you love them.... and don't let little things keep you from enjoying your holiday season!
Huge Hugs!
Tracy
Yesterday ended up being such a long busy day! Jay and I made: sf rice crispies, regular rice crispies, peanut butter candy (Jay's fave), walnuts/pecans/cashews with the splenda & cinnamon, and sf peanut butter cookies. My house smelled so good all day!
Then in the middle of the cooking frenzy, Lotus came to be in our lives. Her foster mom wanted to come early before the weather got bad. We were fine with that. She has been an absolute joy. I've had many dogs over the years...especially since I was a small dog breeder before Bill & I met, but I have never had one who was nearly as intelligent as Lotus has shown to be already. And she behaves terrific. I took her out last night and there were 3 other dogs (neighbors pets) in their adjoining yards. She went up to the fence and sniffed at them then came back to be near me. She let out one little bark when she saw the mailman. That's it. She didn't even bark at the neighbors dogs. Lotus is happily laying down by me now. I'll try to get some pics of her today & get them posted. She's definately going to be a spoiled little girl!
I got Jay home around 7. I had no problem until I got on his street...Parker. It was a total sheet of ice! Trying to pull in the drive was a huge pain in the rear. I was so glad to get off of their street to where some salt was used!!! Gail..thank you for 'keeping me company'!
Hmmmm...today...
The funeral home called and I'm to have Shellie (Bill's daughter) there at 10 so she can say her good-byes to her grandmother. She's going to be out of the country for the funeral. I thought it was good of the funeral home to arrange a private showing for her. Tiffany & I will go in there with her so we can be sure she's handling it all ok. If she does.. we'll quietly step out and let Shell have some time alone to say good-bye. Afterwards, we are going to Meijers and get our grocery stuff for tomorrow. I have coupons to get 20% off grocery stuff. I am hoping to get Bill's pc chair there since with all going on yesterday, I didn't get a chance to get it yet. All my stuff should be done by noon though. Since my wrapping is done...and all I have to make yet for tomorrow is my salad, I think I'm going to ask Bill if he'd like to watch a movie or two! That and some sf hot chocolate. Yep...that would make a good Christmas Eve afternoon!
huggs...and be careful everyone!

I had another 2 hour trip home again last night! It was a little HAIRY going! The roads were horrible to begin with and they got worse the closer I was to home. The last 10 - 20 miles I could only go 20 miles per hr. Boy the weather has been really sucky! I am ready for spring already! I wish I didn't have that long drive everyday, but you gotta do what you gotta do to survive! I seen this morning on the news that 69 was closed from the Daleville exit(that is the one I take to get on over to where I work from St. Rd. 28) to the Fishers exit. It should have been closed last night at 11. I sure hope it isn't bad tonight and tomorrow for those of us that will be on the road tomorrow.
I am going to be going to Paoli real early in the morning. When the weather is good it takes about 3 hours. So please say a little prayer for me to be safe while traveling. Well got to go! Have a Merry Christmas all! Michelle
We survived a 90 minute ride home. It normally takes 20 min.
Once home we had to walk very carefully to keep upright. I didn't want to break another clavicle.
To those that may be new on the board you may notice that some of my answers are too the point and at times harsh.
I want all to know I answer in love and not to be hateful. I am preaching to myself also when I type an answer. I reflect on how I may have fallen back and what it took to get Back on the Wagon.
Have a blessed holiday and remember Christ the King was born to offer us salvation. We could not atone for our sins it took Him to that for us.

2 Chronicles 16:9
For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him. Herein thou has done foolishly: therefore from henceforth thou shalt have wars.
I too baked the afternoon and evening away yesterday. I am sick of smelling the "sugar" smell. (Literally!) I drank lots and lots of tea and water which helped me to stay away from eating it!
Tonight we are having friends and family in after the Christmas Eve service at church. May have a few or may have a lot. It doesn't matter. We just want to have people around! We go to my DH's side of the family at 5:00, church at 7:00 and people here around 8:15. Then my youngest son and his wife will be here in the morning for unwrapping gifts and breakfast. Then we have the day to ourselves! We plan on going to see a movie in the afternoon and then NOTHING! Love it!
So I am wishing all many blessings from God in the this glorious season of our Saviour's birth! Safe travels and may your heart be blessed by those you are sharing this holiday with!
God bless!

Working today but off tomorrow and Friday. Daycare was closed so my best friend and her hubby are watching my ds. I figure since he is 2 now and talking, I can start to be less paranoid. I am such an overprotective mommy. Guess that's what happens after 10 years of trying and fertility treatments.
I have baked up a storm this week, fudge, cookies, peanut brittle, ritz peanut butter choc things...lol , rice krispy treats... but I've made a decision.... NOT next year... I am done baking a ton of Christmas goodies... Maybe 1 here or there. Does anyone really need that much sugar.
I have all my shopping done... didn't have much to do. Ready for fellowship of friends and family...
Thank you to all my OH friends and all the support I find here.
Merry Christmas... Dani
