Tuesday morning...
I cannot begin to adequately put into words the inspiration that you all are to me. I have read so many different experiences that all of you on this board have had. Whenever my thoughts lead me to wonder about something I come here and do a key word search and without fail I always seem to find an answer. Following all of your leads is truly helping me on my way and I am so thankful to each and every one of you.
I am so sorry for those of you who have had unfortunate events occur this week, and what a bad week for them to occur. I am praying that God will find a way for ALL of us to have a good Christmas. I also hope and pray that EVERYONE has a wonderful time visiting with family and friends and that no one has to experience any bickering from those certain few who always seem to be a hum-bug around the holiday... even if it is our kids driving us up the wall because they are too hyper.
My day has started pretty good I think. While I am not having to cook anything I will be going out tomorrow to buy a few last minute gifts. Today I got up this morning and did my weekly measurements then headed off to the YMCA that is around the corner from my house and did my weekly weigh in. I am SO glad that I do not have a scale in my house. I just know that I would be hooked on it and I don't want to be. So... How am I doing? Well... today I am 3 weeks out since my surgery. The first week I lost 16 lbs (from my pre-surgery weight... not after surgery weight where I had the extra fluid), the 2nd week I lost a half-pound, and this morning I found myself down another 2 and a half pounds.... for a total loss of 19 lbs. Pretty good I think. THEN when I came home I sat down to enter all these numbers into my spread sheet. I decided after that to do some comparison checking between last weeks measurements and this weeks. After I found the loss in each measured area I then added those differences for a TOTAL INCHES LOST number... So... here is a WOW moment.... I lost 2 and a half pounds BUT I also lost 14 inches total!!!!!!!! NOW my mind is trying to wrap itself around that thought... 2 1/2 pounds but 14 inches!!! THIS just goes to show how when we get up and do that walking (or exercise bike riding in my case) we can lose more in inches than in pounds as our body turns fat into muscle. While I was wishing to have it happen where I would be below 200 before Christmas (and yes I know it still could possibly happen) I don't know if it will happen. I am okay with this because I am so close to it. I know it will happen soon. I will be over joyed when that day comes.
Yesterday I read a great article that I want to share the link to. Go read this pdf article. It is VERY good. picadmin.obesityhelp.com/magfiles/pdf/Plateaus.pdf
If I don't get around to it before had..... MERRY CHRISTMAS, EVERYONE!!! :O)
