What am I experiencing??
So you all know that I've been struggling to get my fluids in. Yesterday I got 22 oz in. While my pain is way better today, not needing any lortab for over 24 hrs, I feel all weak, queasy, lightheaded, dizzy today. My nursing mind says that I've got a low blood sugar and blood pressure from lack of eating/drinking. Is this what dehydration feels like? I have a call into Dr. E's nurse. But I am not sure what to think. I must admit to struggling to get protein in too. Gonna make a better effort of that today. HELP?? I'm not a very good patient evidentally.

You are becoming dehydrated. Try warm water. Sometimes it goes down much easier.

I can eat as much as I want...I just don't want much.
I'm ashamed of what I did for a Klondike bar...
I just responded to an older post of yours... now I see this post. I had the same symptoms (lightheaded, dizzy, nauseous) and I thought it was my blood pressure or low iron or something too so Dr. Cacucci's nurse had me come to the ER to get checked out. I was dehydrated. They kept me in the ER for a few hours giving me IV fluids and ice chips and afterward I felt SOO much better.
Don't wait go to the ER and get checked out. If you are dehydrated, the longer you wait the harder it is to get rehydrated and stay rehydrated. Go now...you'll be glad you did.
And don't be so hard on yourself. You are doing the best you can and that is all anyone can ask. This happens to a lot of post ops (me included). You are not a bad patient. Hang in there.

Thanks Melissa. Dr. E's office wants me to go to the ER for IVF. I am ready to go, but have to find a ride. Will keep you all posted.

Waiting to hear back from my husband. He had to talk to his boss about leaving early.
Thanks for the offer.

I just wanted to add...if it isn't too troublesome to go to St. V's I would suggest going there for treatment. Not all hospitals/doctors are familiar with bariatric patients and as soon out from surgery as you are it would probably be best if you could make the trip to St. V's (or whatever hospital you had your surgery at).
Just my two cents.
